Embedded Firmware Engineer
As an Embedded Firmware Engineer, you will be responsible for end-to-end ownership of RADAR algorithms, platform integration, system-level software development, and validation of various automotive electronics projects. You will work within a continually evolving world class development process in a dynamic and exciting market.
General Responsibilities
- Design and understand all software and hardware systems to work toward new design development.
- Familiarity with analog and digital circuits.
- Ensure and test that all functions are working correctly.
- Handle troubleshooting for software and hardware functions.
- Identify and problem-solve any issues that may arise during the scope of the process.
- Create and update documents to ensure understanding of all procedures.
- Collaborate with other groups of engineers and stakeholders to ensure successful design and implementation.
- Maintain and comply with regulations and procedures.
- Translate customer application and system requirements into functional software design requirements and solve challenging problems through software development.
- Analyze existing software and improve processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and optimize signal processing algorithms for RADAR automotive applications.
- Perform FFT and spectral analysis.
- Perform beamforming and angle estimation.
- Perform object detection and classification.
- Perform target tracking and multi‑object tracking.
- Conduct detailed performance analysis.
- Provide technical leadership in working with colleagues and customers to develop and implement enhancements to address real‑world performance issues.
- Complete assigned individual and team tasks.
- Support advanced development process activities (analysis, design, reviews, verification testing).
- Liaise with customers and internal departments to support project activities.
- Work according to team procedures, including ASPICE and Agile/Scrum methods.
Qualifications
- A university degree required (e.g., Bachelor’s degree) or equivalent relevant work experience.
- Must be a team player able to work in a fast‑paced environment with demonstrated ability to handle multiple competing tasks and demands.
- Strong communication skills: oral, written, and presentation.
- Strong organization, planning, and time‑management skills to achieve results.

- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel).

Essential Skills
- Strong background in signal processing for RADAR or LiDAR products.
- Hands‑on experience with FFT, beamforming, detection, and tracking algorithms.
- Experience programming in C, C++, and Python for embedded systems.
- Experience with DSP, SNR, signal‑to‑clutter analysis, and real‑time embedded software.
- Knowledge of RTOS concepts, task scheduling, and inter‑process communication.
Desirable Skills
- Experience with FMCW radars, Kalman filters, and detection classification.
- Experience with NXP Racerunner microcontrollers.
- Demonstrated ability to document implemented algorithms.
