Job Description:

The Opportunity

The Product Development Quality role focuses on ensuring quality excellence across New Product Implementation (NPI) and large Grid and Power Systems (GPS) projects by implementing structured quality management methodologies. The role involves applying Business Unit (BU) quality strategies, standards, and processes throughout the project lifecycle to enhance product quality, ensure compliance, and optimize customer satisfaction. It includes driving quality assurance, risk mitigation, and continuous improvement initiatives while supporting cross‑functional R&D teams in embedding quality requirements into design, development, and execution. The position plays a critical role in strengthening the Quality Management System (QMS), improving reliability, reducing cost of poor quality, and ensuring adherence to both internal and external regulatory standards.

How you’ll make an impact

Implement BU Product Development Quality strategies and support quality improvement initiatives for NPI and large GPS projects. Guide and monitor R&D and cross‑functional teams in applying quality standards from project initiation through implementation.

Ensure quality objectives are clearly defined, integrated into project plans, and effectively executed. Collaborate with stakeholders to address quality requirements and enhance team capabilities. Support teams in collecting and analyzing quality data (e.g., T‑NPS, NCR, ETQ, Lessons Learned) to improve customer satisfaction and product quality. Ensure proper identification, translation, and verification of customer requirements into measurable quality criteria. Apply and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS) throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring compliance with standards and regulations. Support audits, manage non‑conformities, and drive corrective actions to improve quality performance. Implement quality assurance processes aligned with company regulations, industrial standards, and external requirements. Ensure effective execution of the Gate Model and track quality requirements across all project stages. Identify and mitigate product quality risks using tools such as FMEA, CoPQ analysis, reliability reviews, and lessons learned. Oversee quality activities including design control, change management, verification & validation, PPAP, and control plans. Define and implement quality controls to ensure products and systems meet all applicable standards and customer expectations. Lead root cause analysis (RCA) and problem‑solving activities for quality issues arising post design freeze or through change requests. Ensure data‑driven corrective actions are implemented to prevent recurrence and improve product reliability. Monitor project quality performance and capture lessons learned to drive continuous improvement. Share best practices and collaborate with BU R&D Quality teams and Technology Centers to enhance overall quality processes. Identify improvement areas and contribute to Quality Improvement Plans (QIP) to close gaps and enhance execution efficiency. Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your background

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering or a related technical field. Strong experience in Product Development Quality, R&D Quality, or Quality Assurance within industrial or project‑based environments. Proven experience in handling NPI projects and large, complex engineering projects (e.g., power systems, grid solutions). In‑depth knowledge of Quality Management Systems (QMS), standards, and regulatory requirements. Hands‑on experience with quality tools and methodologies such as FMEA, RCA, CoPQ, PPAP, and control plans. Familiarity with Gate Model processes and product lifecycle quality management. Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with a data‑driven approach to quality improvement. Experience in managing non‑conformities, audits, and corrective/preventive actions. Good understanding of customer requirements management and quality metrics (T‑NPS, NCR, etc.). Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to collaborate across global teams. Strong focus on continuous improvement, innovation, and quality excellence. Proficiency in both spoken & written English language is required.
