Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 year of experience in quality background at IQC of mechanical / electrical components and related products.
  • Knowledge of Switchgear/Automotive Products and components manufacturing.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough material inspections in accordance with drawings, specs, and test certificates.
  • Prepare and maintain documentation related to quality (inspection reports, NCRs, CTQ parameters).
  • Perform Incoming Inspection of NPD parts and provide feedback to SQ & SCM.
  • Develop checking fixtures and gauges to streamline inspections.
  • Ensure quality tools and instruments are calibrated on schedule.
  • Lead root cause analysis using 4Q, DMAIC, 7QC, 8D methods.
  • Train third-party staff on basic quality test routines.
  • Travel to supplier locations as required.

Job Description

The opportunity Manufacturing Quality Control work includes Auditing, monitoring, and determining the quality of manufacturing processes and/or outputs against defined internal and regulatory standards. Testing random samples of finished goods. Reporting manufacturing process deviations and defects in finished goods and liaising with Quality Assurance to troubleshoot and resolve problems An Experienced Professional (P2) applies practical knowledge of job area typically obtained through advanced education and work experience. May require the following proficiency: Works independently with general supervision. Problems faced are difficult but typically not complex. May influence others within the job area through explanation of facts, policies and practices.

How you’ll make an impact
  • Conduct thorough material inspections in accordance with approved drawings, technical specifications, and review test certificates.
  • Prepare and maintain comprehensive documentation related to quality, including inspection reports, calibration reports, NCR (Non-Conformance Reports), rejection data, QAP, and work instructions.
  • Perform Incoming Inspection of NPD part and provide the feedback to SQ & SCM.
  • Develop checking fixtures, templates, and gauges to streamline the inspection process for parts.
  • Ensured quality clearance through SAP (QM Module), improving efficiency and consistency in product quality.
  • Conduct root cause analysis of non-conformance using problem reports and tools such as 4Q, DMAIC, 7QC, and 8D.
  • Preparing necessary IIPs (incoming inspection plan), checklist and CTQ (Critical to Quality) parameters to ensure best quality of material from supplier.
  • Training quality third party employees in basic quality test routines to ensure quality process are followed as per standard.
  • Ensuring all quality tools and instruments are timely calibrated.
  • Performing first article inspection (first out turn sample inspection) for new development.
  • Regular Quality Observation Tour (QOT) and drive improvement actions
  • Regularly monitor production FPY data, identify repetitive failure modes and drive improvement actions
  • Review and monitor manufacturing non-conformance, deploy right problem-solving tool to drive improvement action.
  • Ensure sustainable solution.
  • Outgoing inspection.
  • Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your background
  • Degree/diploma in mechanical engineering with Lean Six Sigma certification.
  • Minimum 3 year of experience in quality background at IQC of mechanical / electrical components and related products.
  • Knowledge of Switchgear/Automotive Products and components manufacturing.
  • Deep understanding of various national and international standards such as ASME, ANSI, IS, DIN, ISO etc. knowledge of SAP QM module.
  • Should be capable of SAP transactions like create inspection plan (IIP), create quality plan .
  • Handling and usage of quality tools and precise instruments such as CMM, bore gauge, surface roughness tester, etc.
  • Basic knowledge of manufacturing process like casting, forging, welding & machining parts would be added advantage.
  • Excellent collaboration and work within team skills will help you to succeed in this position.
  • Willing to travel at supplier place.
  • Proficiency in both spoken & written English language is required.
