Job summary

AVEVA is seeking an experienced R&D Principal Technologist for Product Development in Hyderabad. You will work on the AVEVA Enterprise Resource Management suite, collaborating with global teams across desktop, cloud, web, and mobile platforms.

Strong coding in C#, software design, and problem-solving are essential for advancing cloud-native capabilities. You will engage in architectural work, RESTful APIs, and modern development practices, while mentoring peers and driving quality and innovation

Qualifications

• 10+ years of hands-on software development experience with C# and related stacks.
• Strong coding skills, design patterns, SOLID principles and MVVM/WPF experience.
• Experience in RESTful or SOAP APIs and cloud environments (AWS/Azure).
• Ability to coach others and participate in architectural discussions.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Product Owner and team to define requirements for on-prem and AWS Cloud environments.
• Participate in Scrum ceremonies and backlog refinement; plan and estimate sprints.
• Ensure code is reviewed, unit tested, documented, and meets quality standards.
• Drive best practices, troubleshoot issues, and move product toward cloud-native architecture.
• Mentor less experienced colleagues and contribute to continuous improvement.

The job

You will work on large to moderately complex projects/assignments within the expansive scope of our AVEVA Enterprise Resource Management product, which includes desktop, cloud deployed version, web, and associated mobile applications. AVEVA Enterprise Resource Management supports the entire capital project construction design and delivery process with best-in-class 3D model integration, reporting, and visualization to create insights and efficiencies throughout. You will collaborate with a global team for overall success in deliverables. Key responsibilities

• Work with the Product Owner, architects, senior developers, and the Scrum Team to understand, define, and implement solution requirements in an on-prem and an AWS Cloud Environment.
• Participate in Scrum meetings with other team members, including sprint planning and estimating; backlog refinement; daily Scrum meetings; sprint retrospectives, and sprint reviews.
• Ensure your code is fully reviewed, unit tested, and documented, and delivered to agreed quality standards.
• Drive the best practices and design principles within the team
• Participate in code review process and ensure that coding standards are met.
• Troubleshoot and debug customer reported as well as internal issues, identify and implement solutions to ensure optimal functionality.
• Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies to continuously improve the software development process and enhance product quality.
• Take part in the journey to move the product further towards a Cloud Native solution.
• Suggest innovative solutions to technical challenges and continuously involve in improvements.

Desired experience

• You can demonstrate examples of design and strong coding skills in multiple languages, one of which must be C#, with 10+ years of hands-on experience.
• Expertise on clean code, SOLID principles, and design patterns.
• Good Understanding of data structures and algorithms.
• Proficiency in MVVM (Model-View-ViewModel) design pattern, and WPF data binding.
• Developing RESTful or SOAP APIs.
• Experience in system design or architectural work Oracle or any other RDBMS or NoSQL database.
• Able to coach and mentor colleagues with less experience.
• Any ORM framework like Entity Framework or Nhibernate.
• Any other version control system such as GIT.
• Angular framework (Angular 2+).
• Azure CI/CD pipeline or any other CI/CD pipeline.
• Containerization technology such as Docker or Podman.
• Code analysis tools (such as SonarQube, ReSharper, or similar).
• Good communication skills, working with a broad range of people, including Product Owners, Architects, Testers.
• Software development methodologies and processes like Agile, SCRUM, Kanban.
• Good Understanding of AWS/Azure/GCP services and cloud architecture.
• Test Driven Development, Unit testing.
• Positive approach to problem solving with a 'can do' attitude.
• Great skills to have Associate-level cloud certification in AWS or Azure (or higher), preferred.
• Familiarity with AI tools like GitHub Copilot, LLMs.
• Experience in Industrial domain like Oil and Gas, EPCs, Marine will be preferred.
