Job summary

Siemens Energy India Limited invites a Mechanical Design Engineer with expertise in steam turbine component and assembly design to join our R&D team in India. You will design, check and release turbine components, model in NX, create drawings and BoMs, and participate in NPD milestones to ensure robust and manufacturable solutions.

The ideal candidate has BE/B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering and about 5 years of R&D experience in steam turbines, with hands-on NX, AutoCAD, SAP and Teamcenter

Qualifications

• BE/B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering is required.
• 5 years of R&D/Engineering experience in Steam Turbine industry.
• Experience with NX and steam turbine design.
• Familiar with SAP and Teamcenter is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Designing, checking and releasing steam turbine components and assemblies in NX considering design requirements (functionality, robustness, cost, manufacturability).
• Proficiency in NX for 3D modeling, assembly, drafting and BoM creation.
• Prepare and check component drawings, welding drawings, detailed drawings, assembly drawings, manufacturing sketches, layouts and complete order BoMs.
• Understand NPD milestones and release designs to meet reviews and milestones.
• Provide R&D support to Shop/site for NCR evaluation and measure definitions for manufacturing deviations and site issues.
• Provide R&D support to Proposal team for bidding when needed.
• Knowledge of mechanical integrity of steam turbine components.
• Knowledge of Quality Management system.

A Snapshot of Your Day

Mechanical Design Engineer with expertise in steam turbine component and assembly design, specializing in NX 3D modeling, assembly design, drafting, and BOM creation.

How You’ll Make an Impact (R&D Design Engineer, TI STG, India)

• Responsible for designing, checking and releasing of Steam turbine components and assemblies in NX considering full spectrum of design requirements (functionality, robustness, cost effectiveness, Manufacturing & technology, assembly and service).
• Proficiency in NX for 3D modeling, assembly, drafting, BoM creation
• Prepare and check component drawings, welding drawings, detailed drawings, assembly drawings, manufacturing sketches, layouts as per global standard requirements and creation of complete order BoM’s.
• Understanding of New Product Development (NPD) project milestones, Getting the design ready for different milestones, design update and release to close the reviews and milestones.
• Responsible for providing R&D support to Shop / site for evaluation of non-conformance reports and define further measures & troubleshooting for manufacturing deviations and site issues.
• Responsible for providing R&D support to Proposal team for bidding purposes as and when needed.
• Knowledge of Mechanical Integrity of steam turbine components.
• Knowledge of Quality Management system

What You Bring

• BE / B. Tech in Mechanical Engineering
• 5 year’s prior experience in R&D / Engineering as Design Engineer in Steam Turbine industry.
• Sound Technical knowhow of Steam turbine Design (Preferably experience on Impulse technology and its functionality.
• Knowledge of Design Tools like NX, AutoCAD, and systems like SAP, Team Center.
• Hands on experience of creating 3D assemblies / Models / Drawings / SAP
