Job summary

Siemens Energy India is seeking a Solution Engineer to lead engineering, testing and commissioning of industrial steam turbine control systems. You will design hardware/software solutions for Omnivise-T3000 projects, review requirements, prepare drawings, and supervise junior engineers to ensure compliant documentation and high-quality outputs.

Travel to sites in India and abroad will be required as part of commissioning and FAT activities, with hands-on troubleshooting, tuning, and performance

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical, electronics, instrumentation or control engineering.
• 12–15 years of experience in control system steam turbine engineering and commissioning.
• Exposure to digitalization and advanced automation technologies.
• Hands-on experience with Omnivise (SPPA)-T3000, PCS 7, Siemens PLCs or similar DCS/PLC platforms.
• Knowledge of instrumentation, sensors, actuators, electro-hydraulic systems and turbine protection logic.
• Experience in commissioning, troubleshooting, and tuning control systems in industrial or power generation environments.
• Reading electrical drawings, logic diagrams and control narratives.
• Familiarity with Modbus, Profibus, Profinet or Ethernet/IP.

Responsibilities

• Understand project/machine requirements, review documents and BOM.
• Prepare engineering drawings and documents, guide juniors, ensure documentation accuracy.

A Snapshot of Your Day

This role combines project engineering, testing, commissioning, customer support, and technical troubleshooting to ensure successful delivery and reliable operation of industrial steam turbine control systems.

How You'll Make An Impact (Solution Engineer, GS-SV, India)

• Perform hardware and software engineering activities for Industrial Turbine Control Solution projects for Omnivise-T3000.
• To Understand the Project / Machine Requirements, Review documents and BOM
• Prepare engineering drawings & documents, guide and monitor junior colleague, ensure correctness of documentation in line with guidelines and customer.
• Ensuring all engineering process are followed and deliver good quality engineering output.
• Prepare system integration procedure, supervise & conduct system integration tests / FAT in line with the procedure, review results to ensure that the delivered system meets the required project specifications and preparation of Quality Documents.
• Perform and customer support in commissioning, troubleshooting, tuning, and optimization of industrial steam turbine control systems.
• Analyze operational issues and implement corrective actions to improve turbine reliability and performance.
• Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) for turbine control and instrumentation-related failures.
• Provide technical expertise for different types of Industrial Steam Turbines and its processes
• Ready to travel engineering and commissioning site in India and abroad.

What You Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation and control Engineering (or equivalent).
• Minimum 12-15 years of experience in control system steam turbine engineering and commissioning.
• Exposure to digitalization and advanced automation technologies.
• Hands-on experience with Omnivise (SPPA)-T3000, PCS 7, Siemens PLCs, or similar DCS/PLC platforms, along with engineering tools such as COMOS, AutoCAD, and Visio.
• Knowledge of instrumentation, field devices, sensors, actuators, electro-hydraulic systems, and turbine protection logic.
• Experience in commissioning, troubleshooting, and tuning control systems in industrial or power generation environments.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, logic diagrams, and control narratives.
• Familiarity with industrial communication protocols such as Modbus, Profibus, Profinet, or Ethernet/IP.
