Job summary

HITACHI ENERGY TECHNOLOGY SERVICES PRIVATE LIMITED in Bengaluru seeks a senior Industrialization leader to drive the India R&D industrialization program for high‑power equipment. You will own the roadmap, manage documentation, tooling, and test infrastructure, and coordinate with global teams to ensure scalable production.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering (Industrial, Electrical, Mechanical, or Manufacturing).
  • 10+ years of industrialization, manufacturing engineering, NPI, or product development with leadership.
  • Proven experience transferring complex electromechanical products from prototypes to serial production.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing readiness, design for manufacturing, process engineering, and quality planning.
  • Experience leading cross-functional priorities, resources, risks, KPIs, and ramp-up in an international environment.
  • Understanding of electrical safety, high‑power equipment, and ESD controls.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the India R&D Industrialization team aligning with the global program roadmap.
  • Build and execute the power converter industrialization roadmap and readiness across docs, processes, tooling, fixtures, and testing infrastructure.
  • Coordinate industrialization with global R&D, local operations, manufacturing, supply chain, quality, product management, and suppliers.
  • Establish and operate the India industrialization laboratory with assembly areas, tooling, fixtures, material handling, test infrastructure, and safety controls.
  • Ensure readiness of BOMs, drawings, 3D models, assembly/work instructions, and QC plans.
  • Lead prototype, pilot, and first‑article builds, pre‑series production, and ramp‑up with feedback loops.
  • Define governance, KPIs, risk management, decision-making, and escalation for industrialization readiness and supplier qualification.
  • Own engineering changes from assessment to release, maintaining traceability across configurations.
  • Define validation requirements for BOM, localization, and design‑to‑cost changes; coordinate testing.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, environmental, certification, and regulatory requirements.

The opportunity :

  • Lead the India R&D Industrialization team supporting current and future PCS product platforms, defining priorities, objectives, resource plans, competencies, and delivery commitments aligned with the global program roadmap.
  • Build and execute the power converter industrialization roadmap, and own industrialization readiness across product documentation, manufacturing processes, assembly methods, tooling, fixtures, test infrastructure, quality gates, pilot builds, and production cut‑in.
  • Coordinate mechanical, electrical, controls-related, and process industrialization activities with global R&D, local operations, manufacturing, supply chain management, quality, product management, and suppliers.
  • Establish and operate the India industrialization laboratory, including assembly areas, industrial workstations, tooling, fixtures, material handling, test infrastructure, ESD controls, and safe working procedures for high‑power equipment.
  • Ensure the readiness and quality of manufacturing deliverables, including bills of materials, electrical and mechanical drawings, 3D models, assembly and work instructions, torque and traceability requirements, quality control plans, factory acceptance test procedures, and packing and transport instructions.
  • Lead prototype, pilot, and first‑article builds, pre-series production, and production ramp‑up, ensuring feedback from builds, factory testing, suppliers, validation, and field experience is converted into robust product and process improvements.
  • Establish clear governance, KPIs, risk management, decision‑making, and escalation mechanisms for industrialization readiness, production ramp‑up, recurring issues, supplier qualification, and engineering changes.
  • Own the industrialization aspects of engineering changes from assessment through validation, documentation update, manufacturing release, production cut‑in, and effectiveness verification, maintaining traceability across requirements, BOM revisions, supplier changes, validation evidence, and released configurations.
  • Define validation and requalification requirements for BOM, supplier, obsolescence, localization, and design-to-cost changes, and coordinate electrical, thermal, cooling, protection, functional, safety, and reliability testing needed for industrialization decisions.
  • Responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable product‑safety, quality, environmental, certification, and regulatory requirements, as well as internal procedures and guidelines.

Your background
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Engineering, preferably Industrial, Electrical, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering.
  • At least 10 years of experience in industrialization, manufacturing engineering, new product introduction (NPI), or product development, including leadership of teams, projects, or cross functional workstreams.
  • Proven experience transferring complex electromechanical products from prototypes into repeatable serial production.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing readiness, design for manufacturing, process engineering, quality planning, and engineering changes.
  • Experience leading cross‑functional priorities, resources, risks, KPIs, and factory ramp‑up in an international environment.
  • Good understanding of power converters, LV/MV equipment, renewable energy or energy storage products.
  • Experience in supplier and component qualification, technical assessment of alternative components, second‑source qualification, or localization.
  • Ability to review bills of materials, electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, 3D models, manufacturing specifications, test procedures, and quality control plans.
  • Working knowledge of configuration management, product traceability, change control, DFMEA, PFMEA, root‑cause analysis, and continuous‑improvement methods.
  • Understanding of electrical safety, grounding, isolation, protection, interlocks, and ESD controls for high‑power equipment.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop people, build local capabilities, and collaborate effectively with global engineering teams.
  • Fluent English, strong stakeholder management, and a structured, decision‑oriented leadership style that balances safety, quality, cost, schedule, and product readiness.
  • Willingness to travel to global engineering centers, manufacturing facilities, supplier locations, and project sites when required
