Job summary

YP Infra in Chennai is seeking a Quantity Surveyor / Estimation Engineer to study project requirements, perform takeoffs, prepare the Bill of Quantities (BOQ), and develop accurate cost estimates and rates for each work item.

You will analyse current market rates for materials and labour, prepare quotations and tender submissions, compare vendor quotations, and coordinate with site, purchasing and project teams to keep projects on budget and maximize profitability.

Responsibilities

• Study client requirements, drawings, specifications and tender documents
• Take off quantities and prepare the BOQ
• Prepare cost estimates and rate analysis for each work item (material, labour, equipment)
• Analyse current market rates for materials and labour
• Prepare quotations and tender submissions for client projects
• Compare vendor and subcontractor quotations and recommend the best option
• Prepare RA (running account) bills, final bills and measurement sheets
• Track project costs against the budget and report any variations
• Handle variation orders, extra items and rate negotiations with clients
• Coordinate with the site, purchase and project teams

About the Role
