Electrical – Testing & Commissioning Engineer

Overview
The role involves planning and executing testing and commissioning activities for projects, coordinating with the project team to meet commissioning deadlines and project closure, and ensuring compliance with applicable codes and standards.
Responsibilities
- Study and understand the project contract specification. Plan and control the overall site commissioning activities to meet the commissioning deadline and project closure.
- Work with the project team and be responsible for executing all testing and commissioning activities within the scheduled timeline.
- Conduct kick-off meetings with the project team regarding requirements (Manpower, Equipment, Schedule) of the commissioning activities.
- Prepare SOPs, formats and checklists for testing and commissioning activities.
- Coordinate with third party testing agencies at site for smooth testing during multiple site testing plans.
- Ensure familiarity with codes and standards of testing and commissioning.
- Provide subject-matter expertise on operations such as WTG, Inverter, Power Transformers, IDT, HT/LT/CRP/SAS/PLC Panels, CT/CVT, PT, Circuit Breakers, Wave traps, Isolators, LA’s, Transmission & Distribution, etc.
- Perform Site Acceptance Tests (SAT) as per requirements and compare with Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) reports to ensure product healthiness.
- Coordinate promptly with OEM/supporting teams to resolve issues during testing and commissioning.
- Conduct testing and commissioning training for the site team on a regular basis.
- Ensure calibration validity and physical condition of measuring equipment.
- Prepare and maintain a minimum commissioning spares list.
- Accurately complete SAT reports on time for all equipment using the specified checklists and maintain test reports with proper signatures.
- Prepare lessons learned and root-cause analyses for incidents related to commissioning works.
- Post-commissioning, monitor equipment performance to ensure proper operation.
- Provide technical support to operational plants for critical issues.
- Demonstrate experience and knowledge of data management tools (e.g., MS Excel, OneDrive, SharePoint).
- Proficient communication skills in English and Hindi.
