Job summary

Greythr is seeking a Senior Manager - Testing and Commissioning to lead electrical testing and commissioning on Data Centre projects in Mumbai. You will supervise engineers, technicians, and subcontractors, ensuring compliance with IEC/NEC standards and project specs.

Responsibilities include coordinating testing, QA, documentation, and client communications, with a focus on safety and timely handover of fully operational systems to the client.

Responsibilities

• Site Management: Lead, manage, and coordinate all electrical activities on-site during testing and commissioning of Data Centre projects, ensuring work is on schedule and within budget.
• Team Leadership: Supervise a team of electrical/Mechanical engineers, technicians, and subcontractors, providing guidance to meet project goals safely and efficiently.
• Testing & Commissioning Coordination: Oversee testing and commissioning of electrical systems (PDU, UPS, generators, lighting, panels) and HVAC/fire fighting as applicable.
• Quality Assurance & Compliance: Ensure testing activities comply with IEC, NEC, and project specifications and regulatory requirements.
• Documentation & Reporting: Maintain and review testing reports, as-built docs, completion certificates, and progress updates for stakeholders.
• Problem Solving & Troubleshooting: Resolve electrical issues during testing, coordinating with the project team on corrective actions.
• Client and Stakeholder Interaction: Act as primary contact for clients and contractors, updating on status and ensuring satisfaction.
• Safety & Risk Management: Enforce site safety procedures and conduct safety audits to minimize risks during commissioning.
• Project Handover: Coordinate final handover of electrical systems to the client, ensuring full operation and adherence to requirements.

Job description

• Site Management: Lead, manage, and coordinate all electrical activities on-site during the testing and commissioning phase of Data Centre projects. Ensure that the electrical works are completed according to the project specifications, on schedule, and within the allocated budget.


• Team Leadership: Supervise a team of electrical/Mechanical engineers, technicians, and subcontractors. Provide guidance, direction, and support to ensure that the team works efficiently and safely to meet project goals.


• Testing & Commissioning Coordination: Oversee and ensure the successful testing and commissioning of all electrical systems, including power distribution units, UPS systems, backup generators, lighting, electrical panels, and other critical electrical infrastructure and HVAC,fire fighting


• Quality Assurance & Compliance: Ensure all electrical testing and commissioning activities comply with applicable national/international standards (IEC, NEC, etc.), project specifications, and regulatory requirements.


• Documentation & Reporting: Ensure that all testing and commissioning activities are thoroughly documented. Maintain and review testing reports, as-built documentation, and completion certificates. Prepare progress reports for stakeholders and address any discrepancies promptly.


• Problem Solving & Troubleshooting: Manage and resolve any electrical issues encountered during testing and commissioning, working with the project team to implement corrective actions as necessary.


• Client and Stakeholder Interaction: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, project managers, and contractors. Regularly update clients on the status of testing and commissioning activities, address queries, and ensure client satisfaction throughout the commissioning process.


• Safety & Risk Management: Ensure compliance with site safety procedures and implement corrective actions when necessary. Conduct regular safety audits and assessments to minimize risks during the electrical commissioning process.


• Project Handover: Coordinate the final handover of the electrical systems to the client. Ensure that all systems are fully operational, thoroughly tested, and meet the client's requirements before handover.
