Job summary

Marico is seeking a Packaging Quality Engineer to ensure the quality of incoming packaging materials and run rigorous lab testing in a fast‑moving consumer goods environment. You will manage defect reports (NCRs), coordinate root cause analysis (RCA) and CAPA with suppliers, conduct vendor audits, and maintain ISO/FSSAI documentation while supporting process improvements.

Responsibilities

• Test incoming packaging and ensure conformity to Marico standards.
• Identify defects and manage NCRs with RCA/CAPA.
• Operate and maintain lab instruments for packaging testing.
• Participate in trials for new packaging developments and suggest optimizations.
• Maintain documentation for ISO, FSSAI, and internal audits.
• Conduct periodic vendor audits and provide feedback to improve supplier quality.

Role & responsibilities

• Incoming Inspection: Conduct rigorous testing and inspection of incoming packaging materials (Rigid Plastics, HDPE/PET Bottles, Caps, Closures, and Laminates) against Marico standards.
• Defect Management: Identify functional and aesthetic defects in packaging; manage Non-Conformance Reports (NCR) and coordinate with vendors for RCA (Root Cause Analysis) and CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Actions).
• Lab Operations: Operate and maintain lab instruments related to packaging testing (e.g., Top load tester, Leakage tester, GSM testing, MFI).
• Process Improvement: Participate in trial runs for new packaging developments and suggest optimizations to reduce wastage or improve shelf-life.
• Compliance: Maintain meticulous documentation for ISO, FSSAI, and internal Marico quality audits.
• Vendor Management: Conduct periodic vendor audits and provide feedback to improve supplier quality performance.

Preferred candidate profile

• Education: Diploma or Post Graduate Diploma from CIPET (Central Institute of Petrochemicals Engineering & Technology) is Mandatory.
• Experience: 2 to 6 years of experience specifically in Packaging Quality within the FMCG & Beauty - Personal Care industry.
• Technical Skills: Deep understanding of polymer properties, injection molding/blow molding defects, and flexible packaging structures.
• Candidate willing to work in all three shifts
