Job summary

Aditya Construction Company in India seeks a Head of Quality for steel bridge fabrication. You will lead the QA/QC department for fabrication of open web girders, composite girders, ROBs, and FOBs, ensuring adherence to drawings, IS codes and project quality requirements.

You will prepare QAP/ITP/WPS, supervise welding quality and inspections, maintain records, and coordinate with production, planning and design teams to resolve quality issues.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in QA/QC in heavy steel fabrication, preferably bridge girder fabrication.
• Strong knowledge of railway bridge fabrication, open web girders and composite girders.
• Experience dealing with Railways, NHAI and third-party inspection agencies.
• Knowledge of welding standards, NDT, dimensional inspection, and QA/QC documentation.
• Familiarity with IS codes, RDSO specs, approved drawings, QAP and ITPs.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Quality Department for steel bridge girder fabrication, including open web girders, composite girders, ROBs and FOBs.

• Supervise welding quality, inspections, dimensional checks, bolt inspection, painting and final inspection.
• Manage non-conformities, corrective actions, records, traceability and test certificates.
• Coordinate with production, planning, design and project teams to resolve quality issues.
• Lead and guide QA/QC team and report quality status to Plant Head.

Job Responsibilities

1. Lead the Quality Department for steel bridge girder fabrication, including open web girders, composite girders, ROBs, and FOBs.
2. Ensure that all fabrication work follows approved drawings, specifications, applicable IS codes, and project quality requirements.
3. Handle inspections, audits, approvals, and technical coordination with Indian Railways, RDSO, RITES, NHAI, and other client or inspection agencies.
4. Prepare, review, and implement Quality Assurance Plans (QAP), Inspection and Test Plans (ITP), Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), and other quality documents.
5. Supervise welding quality, fit-up inspection, dimensional checks, trial assembly, bolt inspection, surface preparation, painting, and final inspection.
6. Manage non-conformities, corrective actions, inspection records, material traceability, test certificates, and quality documentation.
7. Coordinate with production, planning, design, and project teams to resolve quality issues and ensure timely inspection and clearance.
8. Lead and guide the QA/QC team, maintain quality standards across the plant, and submit quality reports to the Plant Head and senior management.

Required Skills & Experience

• Minimum 10 years of experience in quality control and quality assurance in heavy steel fabrication, preferably in steel bridge girder fabrication.
• Strong knowledge of railway bridge fabrication, including open web girders and composite girders.
• Practical experience in dealing with RDSO, RITES, Indian Railways, NHAI, and other client/third-party inspection agencies.
• Good knowledge of welding processes, WPS/PQR, welder qualification, NDT, dimensional inspection, and trial assembly.
• Knowledge of relevant IS codes, RDSO specifications, approved drawings, QAP, and inspection procedures.
• Experience in preparing quality documents, handling inspections, and closing observations raised by clients and inspection agencies.
• Good leadership, communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills.

Key Requirement

The candidate must be capable of independently leading the plant's Quality Department, managing client and inspection agency requirements, and ensuring that fabricated steel girders meet all approved quality standards.
