Job summary

Woven Talent in India seeks a seasoned Quality Leader to own and drive the Quality Management System. You will ensure adherence to AS9100 and related customer requirements, lead cross-functional teams, and maintain robust QA processes across functions.

The role focuses on continuous improvement using Six Sigma and Lean, overseeing internal audits, supplier audits, and operator self-inspections, while mentoring the Quality team to achieve regulatory and customer KPIs.

Qualifications

• Minimum understanding of QMS and global Aerospace & Defence standards.
• Experience driving Six Sigma and Lean continuous improvements.
• Ability to coordinate with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Define and maintain the Quality Management System in compliance with AS9100/other standards.
• Lead internal and external audits and ensure timely closure of actions.
• Drive supplier and subcontractor audits and monitor KPIs.
• Coordinate with Operations to improve quality performance and customer satisfaction.

Job description

Job Purpose

• Define the entire Quality Management System and ensure adherence to global Aerospace & Defence standards.
• Drive continuous product/process improvements using statistical and analytical improvement tools such as Six Sigma and Lean methodologies.
• Work with other Quality functions and Cross Business Teams (CBTs) to enable rapid closure of issues utilizing analytical capabilities and communication skills.
• Monitor all Quality Assurance systems to ensure compliance with customer requirements.
• Act as the main point of contact on all Quality matters, internally and externally.
• Maintain and improve departmental operational performance to meet the requirements of regulatory authorities, company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and external and internal customers.
• Drive preparation and approval of Quality SOPs, ensuring they are fit for purpose against customer quality requirements and company policy.
• Ensure that all activities are performed in accordance with the QMS.
• Ensure that an internal audit programme is in place and communicated to Operations.
• Ensure that supplier and subcontractor audits are performed and reported against schedule.
• Ensure that an operator self-inspection programme is in place wherever possible to support workflow.

Accountabilities and KPIs

Key Accountabilities

1. 1 Preparing, reviewing and approving Technical and Quality Agreements.
2. 2 Ensuring appropriate investigation of discrepancies, errors, complaints, failures or adverse events requiring documented review and action, including interrupting processes where necessary and ensuring material is quarantined or placed on hold until matters are resolved.
3. 3 Responsible for internal and external audit clearance.
4. 4 Leading customer and quality approval body audits/inspections, as required.
5. 5 Ensuring that the Quality department meets defined targets and KPIs.
6. 6 Providing direction and guidance to the Quality team.
7. 7 Managing, motivating, coaching and mentoring direct reports to develop higher levels of management capability.
8. 8 Identifying and developing the Quality team structure and advising Operations on resourcing and training requirements.
9. 9 Ensuring good relations and communication with all members of the team and responding politely and in a timely fashion to internal and external customers.
10. 10 Working with all members of staff to maintain and develop a positive and progressive culture within the business.
