Job summary

Urgent opening for the profile of Quality Engineer / Quality Inspector at Thane, Maharashtra. Location: Thane, Maharashtra (as and when required candidate should travel outside Mumbai).

Experience: min 3 yrs (Must have experience in machine parts inspection and managing team). Qualification: Diploma Holders 3-4 years; ITI Turner / Fitter 5-6 years.

Qualifications

• Experience 3-4 years for Diploma Holders.
• Must have 3+ years experience in machine parts inspection and managing a team.
• ITI Turner / Fitter should have 5-6 years experience.
• Strong drawing reading skills with understanding of First Angle and Third Angle projections.
• Knowledge of surface roughness symbols and GD&T concepts.

Responsibilities

• Carry out parts inspection and manage the inspection team.
• Prepare part inspection reports as per drawings.
• Travel to outside Mumbai as required.
• Apply welding and fabrication knowledge during inspection of joints and assemblies.
• Utilize measuring instruments to verify dimensions and tolerances.

Key Skills:

1. Drawing Reading Skills

• Should have strong drawing reading skills.


• Must understand First Angle and Third Angle projection drawings.


• Good understanding of geometrical tolerances and symbols.


• Knowledge of surface roughness symbols.

2. Measuring Instruments for parts inspection

• Vernier Callipers


• Micrometres (Inside and Outside)


• Dial Bore Gauges


• Thread Gauges (Plug and Ring Gauges)


• Height Gauge

3. Fabrication Knowledge

• Basic understanding of welding processes


• Knowledge of fabrication processes and visual inspection of the welding joints


• Ability to measure and inspect fabricated parts, including machining dimensions

4. Casting parts

• Basic understanding of inspection of the casting parts


• Able to handle cast machine parts


• Basic Knowledge of NDT testing (Dye Penetrant test, MPI test, UT test)

5. Inspection Report Preparation

• Ability to prepare part inspection reports as per drawings.


• Basic computer skills, including working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
