Job summary

Nomura Holdings, Inc. is seeking a seasoned QA Engineer to support testing for internet banking platform modernization, covering backend migration to Jakarta EE/Spring Boot and a new React-based frontend.

You will design test plans, validate REST APIs, and ensure data integrity and security across systems. The role requires 6–9 years of QA experience in an enterprise setting, strong QA methodologies, and familiarity with JIRA, TestRail, Zephyr, Postman, and Selenium-based tooling.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Technology or equivalent in Computer Science.
• Minimum of 6-9 years QA experience in an enterprise environment.
• Strong understanding of QA methodologies (manual and automated testing).
• Experience testing Java/Spring-based backend applications and REST APIs.
• Experience testing React or other modern JS framework-based frontends.
• Familiarity with test management tools (JIRA, TestRail, Zephyr).
• Experience with API testing tools (Postman, SoapUI).
• Familiarity with automated testing frameworks (Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, Jest).
• Understanding of banking/financial systems testing requirements (data integrity, security, compliance) is a plus.
• Experience testing legacy-to-modern system migrations is a plus.
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Able to work and organize with sense of urgency under multiple deadlines.
• Self-motivated, responsible and reliable team player.
• Communicates well & across all levels.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute test plans and test cases including functional, regression, integration, and UAT testing.
• Validate backend API integrations and data accuracy, including error handling.
• Perform regression testing for legacy-to-new migrations.
• Validate security-related flows (authentication, session handling, XSS/CSRF protections).
• Log, track, and retest defects; collaborate with developers for timely resolution.
• Support automated test script development and maintenance.

Job Role & Responsibilities:

We are seeking a QA Engineer to support testing and quality assurance for the internet banking platform modernization - covering backend migration to Jakarta EE/Spring Boot and the new React-based frontend.

• Design and execute test plans/cases covering functional, regression, integration, and UAT testing.
• Validate backend API integrations, including CAPI, ensuring data accuracy and correct error handling.
• Perform regression testing to ensure legacy library migrations (Jackson, Log4j2, Hibernate Validator, etc.) do not break existing functionality.
• Validate security-related flows (authentication, session handling, XSS/CSRF protections) relevant to banking systems.
• Log, track, and retest defects; work closely with developers to ensure timely resolution.
• Support automated test script development and maintenance.

Job Requirements/Experience:

• Candidates must have a Bachelor of Technology or equivalent degree in Computer Science.
• Minimum of 6-9 years of QA experience in an enterprise environment.
• Strong understanding of QA methodologies (manual and automated testing).
