Job summary

Somemiya Corporation is seeking a skilled Quality Engineer with extensive CMM/VMM inspection experience to uphold dimensional accuracy and customer satisfaction. The role involves developing measurement programs, performing detailed GD&T analysis, and driving quality improvements across manufacturing processes.

The candidate should have hands-on CMM/VMM operation, programming experience, and the ability to lead investigations using standard quality tools.

Qualifications

• Diploma/B.E./B.Tech in mechanical/production or related field.
• 37 years of relevant experience in CMM/VMM inspection.
• Strong hands-on experience in operating CMM and VMM.
• Experience in CMM programming and measurement software.
• Good knowledge of GD&T, drawings, tolerances, and dimensional inspection.
• Experience in analyzing CMM/VMM reports and identifying dimensional deviations.
• Lead quality improvement activities to reduce defects and improve customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Perform dimensional inspection of components using CMM and VMM.
• Conduct frequent inspections of parts per standards and customer requirements.
• Prepare and verify CMM/VMM measurement programs and ensure accurate results.
• Inspect critical dimensions, GD&T, profile, surface-related dimensions, and other characteristics.
• Perform root cause analysis using 7 QC Tools, 5 Why, Fishbone Diagram, Pareto Analysis, and FMEA.
• Prepare and maintain quality reports, rejection reports, and customer response documents.
• Coordinate with production, tooling, maintenance, and suppliers to resolve quality issues.

• Perform dimensional inspection of components using CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) and VMM (Vision Measuring Machine).
• Conduct frequent and routine inspections of parts as per inspection standards and customer requirements.
• Prepare and verify CMM/VMM measurement programs and ensure accurate measurement results.
• Inspect critical dimensions, GD&T, profile, surface-related dimensions, and other specified characteristics.
• Perform root cause analysis using quality tools such as 7 QC Tools, 5 Why, Fishbone Diagram, Pareto Analysis, and FMEA.
• Prepare and maintain quality reports, rejection reports, and customer response documents.
• Coordinate with production, tooling, maintenance, and suppliers to resolve quality issues.

Preferred candidate profile

• Diploma/B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical, Production, Manufacturing, Automobile, or related engineering field.
• 37 years of relevant experience in CMM/VMM inspection, preferably in the automotive/manufacturing industry.
• Strong hands-on experience in operating CMM and VMM.
