Job summary

Flex in Chennai is seeking an Engineer- Quality to strengthen our supplier quality team. You will manage PPAP/FAI activities, lead supplier qualification, and support new product launches with rigorous quality controls.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in EEE/ECE/Mech/E&TC and 4+ years in Automotive/EMS/Electronics manufacturing. Proficiency in APQP, PPAP, FMEA, ISO/IATF, GD&T, and Lean methods is expected, along with strong communication and data analytics skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelors in EEE / ECE / Mech / E&TC.
• Minimum 4+ years in Automotive EMS/Electronics manufacturing.
• Experience with APQP, PPAP, FMEA, and Quality Core Tools.
• Knowledge of PCB operations, Lean, ISO/IATF standards.
• GD&T measurement techniques and reading drawings.
• Strong planning, prioritization, communication and analytical skills.
• Proficient in Excel and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Follow up with suppliers for root cause analysis and corrective actions on quality issues.
• Review and improve supplier manufacturing processes, driving value and efficiency.
• Promote continuous improvement using Lean, Six Sigma, PokaYoke, MSA, PFMEA.
• Provide documentation of inspection results relative to area of responsibility.
• Conduct on-site/virtual audits to verify corrective actions related to supplier quality issues.
• Support Quality Manager to monitor and report on supplier product quality and performance.
• Report KPIs to adhere to process and prevent non-conformities.
• Preparation & Validation of First Article Inspection.
• Participate in cross-functional teams for new products or changes.
• Manage and coordinate supplier Material/Non-Material cost recovery.
• Ensure readiness for internal and external audits, assist in quality audits.
• Knowledge of ISO/IATF regulations & requirements.
• Undertake special projects and provide data-driven decision support.
• Leverage data analytics to optimize processes and improve quality.
• Conduct benchmarking studies for best practices and trends.

What a typical day looks like:

The experience were looking to add to our team:

• Minimum 4+ experience in Automotive Industry /EMS / Electronics Products Manufacturing Industry.
• Experience in years of experience in APQP, PPAP, FMEA, and Quality Core Tools.
• Knowledge of PCB operations, Lean manufacturing principles, and ISO/IATF standards.
• Skilled in measurement techniques (GD&T) and interpreting engineering drawings.
• Strong planning and prioritization capabilities.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent analytical and logical reasoning abilities.
• Proficient in soft skills, including Excel and presentation skills.
