Job summary

Zen Furnitures is seeking a QA/QC Executive to ensure quality throughout modular furniture manufacturing, packing, and dispatch processes. The role requires overseeing incoming, in-process, and final inspections, and enforcing drawings, BOMs, and quality standards on the factory floor.

You will lead root-cause analysis, implement CAPA, and train the packing/Dispatch team on approved quality and packing methods to ensure accurate, damage-free dispatches.

Qualifications

• Diploma/BE/B.Tech in Mechanical, Production, Manufacturing, Wood Technology, or related field.
• 25 years of experience in modular furniture, furniture manufacturing, woodworking, interior fit-out, or similar manufacturing industries.
• Good knowledge of MDF, plywood, particle board, laminates, edge banding, furniture hardware, and finishing.
• Knowledge of furniture packing methods and quality standards.
• Ability to read technical drawings, BOMs, dimensions, and specifications.
• Knowledge of measuring instruments and inspection techniques.
• Good communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to work on the production floor.

Responsibilities

• Conduct incoming, in-process, and final quality inspections.
• Check dimensions, cutting, edge banding, drilling, assembly, alignment, finishing, and hardware.
• Ensure production follows approved drawings, BOMs, specifications, and quality standards.
• Identify defects and coordinate with Production for corrective actions. Conduct root-cause analysis and implement corrective/preventive actions.
• Monitor rejection, rework, and recurring quality issues.
• Maintain QC checklists, inspection reports, NCRs, and quality records.
• Develop and implement standard packing methods and packing SOPs.
• Ensure proper protection using foam, corner protection, surface protection, cartons, etc.
• Ensure correct labeling, package numbering, and module-wise identification. Ensure hardware, accessories, and fittings are properly packed and identified.
• Train and guide the packing/Dispatch team on approved packing standards.
• Inspect packed products to prevent scratches, breakage, damage, and missing components.
• Coordinate with Packing and Dispatch teams to ensure the right product, quantity, and package are dispatched to the correct site.
• Verify package labels, quantities, BOMs, and relevant documents before dispatch. Ensure all quality issues and rework are closed before dispatch.
• Provide QC clearance/final quality release before dispatch.
• Monitor and reduce wrong-item dispatches, missing components, and packing-related damages.
• Coordinate with Production, Design, Stores, Packing, Dispatch, and Installation teams to resolve quality issues.
• Support customer/site teams in resolving product quality and packing-related complaints.
• Drive continuous improvement in production, packing, and overall product quality.
