Job summary

A MIX READY MIX CONCRETE in Chennai region seeks a Quality Control professional to lead testing and inspection of concrete and raw materials. You will review mix designs, ensure proper batching, and monitor key parameters like water-cement ratio and workability.

The role requires hands-on QC supervision, CAPA implementation, and collaboration across production, dispatch, and site teams. Responsibilities include conducting slump and cube testing, maintaining records, and analyzing strength trends

Qualifications

• Experience in quality control at RMC plants or similar concrete production facilities.
• Knowledge of IS standards and project specifications for concrete and materials.
• Ability to supervise and conduct tests on concrete and raw materials.
• Familiarity with mix design review and proper implementation at batching plants.
• Proficiency in data analysis and reporting of test results and quality trends.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day QC activities at the RMC plant and project sites.
• Monitor quality of cementitious materials, aggregates, sand, admixtures, water, and mineral additives.
• Conduct and supervise testing of concrete and raw materials per IS standards and project specs.
• Review mix designs and ensure correct implementation at the batching plant.
• Monitor batching accuracy, W/C ratio, workability, temperature, and other quality parameters.
• Perform slump, cube, temperature, density, and related tests for fresh and hardened concrete.
• Maintain sampling, curing, testing, and record-keeping of concrete cubes.
• Analyze cube test results and track compressive strength and quality trends.
• Investigate quality issues, CAPA, and customer/site complaints; coordinate with teams to resolve.

Job description

• Manage day-to-day Quality Control activities at the RMC plant and project sites.
• Monitor the quality of raw materials including cement, aggregates, sand, admixtures, water, and mineral additives.
• Conduct and supervise testing of concrete and raw materials as per applicable IS standards and project specifications.
• Review mix designs and ensure proper implementation of approved concrete mix designs at the batching plant.
• Monitor concrete production, batching accuracy, water-cement ratio, workability, temperature, and other quality parameters.
• Conduct slump, cube, temperature, density, and other relevant tests for fresh and hardened concrete.
• Ensure proper sampling, identification, curing, testing, and record keeping of concrete cubes.
• Analyze cube test results and monitor compressive strength and quality trends.
• Investigate concrete quality issues, non-conformities, and customer/site complaints and implement appropriate corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
• Coordinate with Production, Plant Operations, Dispatch, Project/Site Teams, and Customers to resolve quality-related issues.
• Maintain and update QC documentation, test reports, inspection records, calibration records, and quality registers.
• Ensure timely calibration and verification of laboratory and batching plant equipment.
• Conduct regular inspections of batching plants, laboratory facilities, and material storage areas.
• Support development and optimization of concrete mix designs for different grades and applications.
• Monitor consumption and performance of cementitious materials and admixtures and identify opportunities for quality and cost optimization.
• Coordinate with external laboratories and third-party agencies for material and concrete testing whenever required.
• Train and guide QC Engineers, Technicians, and laboratory staff on testing procedures and quality requirements.
• Prepare periodic quality reports, test result summaries, trend analysis, and management reports.
• Participate in internal/external audits and ensure closure of quality observations.
• Knowledge in SAP system.
