Job summary

Digantara is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer to ensure quality control across satellite and payload manufacturing. The role involves inspection, GD&T, and coordinating with external vendors to enforce standards.

Experience with CMM/VMM and ASME/ISO is preferred. The ideal candidate will have 2–3 years in quality control within aerospace or high-precision manufacturing, with strong documentation and communication skills.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Conduct detailed inspections, audits and tests on fabricated parts to verify compliance with drawings and specs.
  • Follow up with outsourced manufacturing partners to monitor progress and address non-conformities.
  • Perform receiving inspection with in-house measurement of mechanical, optical and electronics hardware; maintain traceability.
  • Participate in assembly, integration and testing of space and ground-based systems.
  • Prepare balloon drawing and inspection report formats for suppliers.

We are seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer with a strong background in Quality Control to join our team specializing in the fabrication of satellites and payloads. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with a variety of measuring instrument, a deep understanding of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T), and a proven track record in maintaining and enforcing industrial standards. This position involves regular interaction with external manufacturing vendors, developing and implementing quality standards, and ensuring strict compliance throughout the supply chain.

Ideal Candidate

Someone with professional experience manufacturing industry with experience in inspection, receiving inspection, reporting and quality control.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct detailed inspections, audits and tests on fabricated parts to verify compliance with drawing and other technical specifications. Verification of inspection report, material certificates, special process certificates for compliance as per standard.
  • Regularly follow up with outsourced manufacturing partners to monitor progress, address non-conformities, and ensure timely delivery of quality products along with the supply chain team.
  • Performing receiving inspection with inhouse measurement of the mechanical, optical and electronics hardware. Preparation of detail receiving inspection report. Maintaining inhouse traceability and inventory of the manufactured and COTS components.
  • Participate and verify Assembly, integration and testing of the space and ground-based systems.
  • Preparation of balloon drawing, inspection report format for the supplier.
Required Qualifications
  • Diploma, B.Tech/B.E, in Mechanical/Aerospace/Related Engineering field.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of hands-on experience in quality control, inward inspection, inspection using manual instrument (2D Height gauge, vernier calliper, gauges, etc) along with CMM and VMM, preferably, in high-precision manufacturing or aerospace industry.
  • Understanding of engineering drawings, GD&T, special processes, knowledge of ASME or ISO standards.
  • Familiarity with various manufacturing processes (turning, milling, grinding, etc)
  • Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills.
Preferred Skills
  • Hands on experience of manual measuring instrument, CMM and VMM.
  • Familiarity with quality management systems (QMS), inspection methodologies, inward inspection, traceability, NC management, inventory management, etc.
  • Working knowledge of CAD software (NX/SolidWorks), MS Office
