Job summary

PeopleStrong is seeking a QA/QC professional with Hydro-Mechanical fabrication and erection experience. You will ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, and QA/QC standards while overseeing welding, fit-up, alignment, and tolerances.

The role requires coordinating inspections and NDT activities (UT/RT/MT/PT/VT) and witnessing hydrostatic tests for pressure-retaining components. Strong documentation skills and the ability to coordinate with fabrication yards, site teams, QA/QC personnel,

Qualifications

• Experience in HM fabrication/erection per drawings and QA/QC standards.
• Proficient with fit-up, alignment, welding, and tolerances.
• Knowledge of WPS and ITP; capable of coordinating NDT (UT/RT/MT/PT/VT).
• Experience witnessing/verifying Hydrostatic Tests (HST) for pressure-retaining parts.
• Maintains inspection records, test reports, and quality dossiers per quality systems.

Responsibilities

Job Description

Experienced in ensuring all Hydro-Mechanical (HM) fabrication and erection activities comply with approved drawings, technical specifications, quality requirements, and QA/QC standards. Proficient in monitoring fit-up, alignment, welding activities, dimensional accuracy, and fabrication tolerances to ensure adherence to project requirements. Skilled in implementing approved Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), coordinating inspections, and monitoring Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) activities including UT, RT, MT, PT, and VT as per Inspection and Test Plans (ITP). Experienced in witnessing and verifying Hydrostatic Tests (HST) for pressure-retaining components such as penstocks and related systems. Knowledgeable in material inspection, traceability, surface preparation, blasting, painting, and protective coating requirements. Capable of maintaining inspection records, test reports, quality dossiers, and documentation in line with project quality systems. Strong coordination skills with fabrication yards, site teams, QA/QC personnel, consultants, and client representatives for inspections, approvals, and issue resolution.
