Job summary

Educational Qualification

ITI / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (DME)

Experience

01-03 years of relevant experience in the Industrial Automation industry, preferably with hands-on experience in:

  • Special Purpose Machines (SPMs)
  • Gauges and inspection equipment
  • Welding fixtures
  • Precision machined components
  • Automation machine manufacturing
Other Requirements
  • Two-wheeler is mandatory.
  • Willingness to travel to supplier sites for material and component inspection.
  • Good communication and coordination skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities
1. Material & In-Process Inspection
  • Conduct material and component inspections at supplier locations.
  • Perform incoming material inspection and in-process inspection.
  • Verify components as per engineering drawings, specifications and quality requirements.
  • Coordinate with suppliers regarding quality issues and required corrections.
2. Engineering Drawing & GD&T
  • Good understanding of engineering drawings, GD&T, tolerances, limits and fits.
  • Interpret dimensional and geometric requirements from engineering drawings.
  • Ensure components are manufactured as per specified tolerances and customer requirements.
3. Measuring Instruments

Hands-on knowledge of inspection and measurement instruments, including:

  • Vernier Caliper
  • Micrometer
  • Digital Height Gauge
  • Inspection Gauges
  • Bore Gauges
  • Other precision measuring instruments
4. Quality Documentation & Records

Prepare and maintain quality-related documentation, including:

  • Inspection Reports
  • Incoming Material Inspection Reports
  • In-Process Inspection Reports
  • Final Product Inspection Reports
  • Calibration Reports
  • Supplier Inspection Reports
  • Non-Conformance Reports, wherever applicable
5. Material & Manufacturing Process Knowledge
  • Good knowledge of engineering materials and their applications.
  • Basic understanding of plating processes.
  • Knowledge of heat treatment processes and their impact on component quality.
  • Ability to identify material and process-related quality concerns.
6. Quality Problem Solving
  • Identify quality issues during supplier inspection, manufacturing and final inspection.
  • Perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for quality problems.
  • Coordinate and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Follow up with suppliers and internal teams to ensure effective closure of quality issues.
7. Quality Standards & Customer Requirements
  • Ensure compliance with defined quality standards and customer specifications.
  • Verify product quality throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Ensure final products meet drawing, dimensional and functional requirements before dispatch.
  • Support customer inspections and quality-related requirements when required.
8. Team Coordination
  • Coordinate with Production, Design, Purchase, Suppliers and Project teams regarding quality issues.
  • Work independently while also collaborating effectively with the team leader and other departments.
  • Provide timely feedback regarding quality concerns and corrective actions.
9. MS Office
  • Good working knowledge of MS Office, particularly:
    • MS Excel
    • MS Word
    • MS PowerPoint
  • Ability to prepare inspection reports, quality records and documentation using MS Office.
