Job summary

Aditi Consulting is seeking a device testing support professional in Bengaluru to assist with setup, configuration, firmware updates, and hardware validation across lab devices.

You will ensure devices are test-ready, manage inventory, and support QA with provisioning and locale-specific configurations, while documenting issues and assisting in environment setup.

Qualifications

• 6 months to 1 year of device/hardware support experience.
• Basic understanding of smart home devices and IoT.
• Proficiency in SOPs for lab management.
• Proficient in English (written & verbal).
• Experience using tracking tools like Excel or JIRA.

Responsibilities

• Set up, configure, and maintain devices for testing.
• Perform firmware updates and verify build versions.
• Validate device connectivity (WiFi, Bluetooth) and AV.
• Manage device inventory and provisioning for QA.
• Document defects with clear steps to reproduce.
• Prepare daily readiness reports and help setup test environments.
• Participate in daily stand-ups and sprint ceremonies.

Responsibilities

• Set up, configure, and maintain enabled devices for testing.
• Perform firmware/software updates and ensure devices are on the correct build versions before test cycles.
• Execute device-level validation checks including Wi‑Fi connectivity, Bluetooth pairing, audio/visual output, and microphone functionality.
• Manage device inventory — track device allocation and availability.
• Support QA engineers with device provisioning, account linking, and locale‑specific configurations.
• Perform factory resets, re-registration, and device deprovisioning as required between test cycles.
• Log and elevate hardware defects or device malfunctions with clear documentation (device ID, symptoms, steps to reproduce).
• Maintain daily device readiness reports and update device tracking sheets/tools.
• Assist in setting up test environments for new feature launches, regression cycles, and localization testing.
• Participate in daily stand‑ups, sprint ceremonies, and team syncs.

Requirements

• 6 months -1 year of experience in device/hardware support, IT asset management, or a related field.

Required Skills

• Basic understanding of smart home devices, IoT ecosystems, and voice assistants.
• Familiarity with device setup processes — Wi‑Fi configuration, Bluetooth pairing, firmware updates.
• Ability to follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) for device provisioning and lab management.
• Proficiency in using tracking tools (Excel/Google Sheets, JIRA, or inventory management systems).
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Professional English proficiency (written & verbal).
• Comfort working with multiple device types and form factors (smart speakers, smart displays, tablets, streaming devices, mobile).

Preferred Skills

• Exposure to app setup and device registration workflows.
• Basic understanding of networking concepts (Wi‑Fi, Bluetooth, IP addressing).
• Experience in a QA or testing environment.
