Job summary

State Street is seeking a skilled QA Automation Engineer with 4 to 12 years of experience in test automation using Selenium with Java. The role requires strong analytical and programming skills, plus hands-on database testing in Unix environments.

Responsibilities include designing robust automation frameworks, building test suites for functional, regression, API and end-to-end tests, and collaborating with BAs, developers and QA teams. Exposure to cloud platforms and CI/CD tools is a plus.

Qualifications

• 4–12 years of experience in QA automation.
• Strong hands-on experience with Selenium and Java.
• Database testing experience with SQL is mandatory.
• Familiarity with Unix/Linux environments and Agile/Scrum.
• Experience with automation frameworks and SDLC/STLC concepts.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain scalable automation frameworks using Selenium and Playwright.
• Develop automated test suites for functional, regression, API, and end-to-end tests.
• Create and execute automated test scripts and analyze results.
• Collaborate with analysts, developers and QA teams to translate requirements into automation.
• Participate in test planning, execution and defect tracking.
• Integrate automation with CI/CD pipelines ( Jenkins, GitLab).
• Validate data integrity through SQL queries and perform UNIX/Linux tests.
• Provide detailed reports to stakeholders and drive process improvements.

Exposure to modern automation tools and cloud platforms is an added advantage.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable, enterprise‑grade automation frameworks using Selenium and Playwright
• Develop automated test suites covering:
  • Functional
  • Regression
  • API
  • End-to‑End scenarios
• Develop and execute automated test scripts for functional, regression, and end‑to‑end testing
• Collaborate with business analysts, developers, and QA teams to understand requirements and translate them into automation solutions
• Perform test planning, execution, and defect tracking activities
• Work with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab) for automation integration
• Validate data integrity by performing database testing using SQL queries
• Execute tests in Unix/Linux environments and support deployment validations
• Analyze test results, identify issues, and provide detailed reports to stakeholders
• Continuously improve automation frameworks and testing processes

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 4–12 years of experience in QA automation
• Strong hands‑on experience with:
  • Selenium and any other automation tool
  • Java programming
  • Agile/Scrum methodologies
• Good understanding of:
  • Automation frameworks (TestNG, JUnit, BDD/Cucumber – preferred)
  • SDLC, STLC, and Agile methodologies
• Strong SQL expertise (mandatory)
• Solid foundation in:
  • OOP principles
  • Data structures & algorithms
  • Design patterns for automation frameworks
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
• Experience with database testing (SQL)
• Working knowledge of Unix/Linux commands and environments
• Experience with version control tools like Git
• Familiarity with defect tracking tools (JIRA, ALM, etc.)

Good To Have Skills

• Exposure to modern automation tools such as Playwright
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP)
• Knowledge of API testing tools (Rest Assured/Postman)
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
• Understanding of containerization or microservices‑based architectures
• Domain knowledge in Finance / Banking (e.g., financial transactions, data validation, reconciliation, regulatory workflows)

Education
