Job summary

VyomIC is building a next-generation global satellite constellation for precise PNT. We seek a Quality Assurance Lead to establish and oversee the QA/PA framework for spacecraft payloads and flight hardware, ensuring compliance with AS9100, ISO 9001, and space industry standards throughout the lifecycle.

You will lead QA activities across design, manufacturing, integration, testing, and supplier management, acting as the primary quality representative for customers and partners while driving

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's in Electronics, Aerospace, or related engineering fields.
  • Minimum 5 years in QA/Product Assurance in aerospace/defense/high-reliability electronics.
  • Experience with PCB/PCBA, flight hardware, and environmental testing.
  • Proven ability to lead audits, CAPA, and supplier quality activities.
  • Strong documentation and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain QMS per AS9100, ISO 9001 and space standards.
  • Develop QA/PA plans for payloads and hardware.
  • Perform reliability analyses (FMEA/FMECA, FTA) and risk assessments.
  • Define quality requirements for design, manufacturing, procurement, testing.
  • Lead NCRs, deviations, waivers, and CAPA investigations.
  • Coordinate supplier quality and traceability across lifecycle.
  • Represent QA in customer reviews and audits.
  • Lead internal audits and drive continuous improvement.

Job description

We are building the next-generation Global Satellite Constellation for highly precise and secure Positioning, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) using Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellites. We are seeking a motivated Quality Assurance Lead to lead the QA department of our spacecraft development. The Quality Assurance & Product Assurance (QA/PA) Manager will be responsible for establishing, implementing, and maintaining the quality and product assurance framework for VyomIC's spacecraft payloads and associated flight hardware. The role will ensure compliance with customer, regulatory, and space industry standards throughout the product lifecycle, oversee quality activities across design, manufacturing, integration, testing, and supplier management, and serve as the primary quality representative for customers, partners, and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish, implement, maintain, and continually improve VyomIC's Quality Management System (QMS) in accordance with AS9100, ISO 9001, and applicable space industry standards.
  • Develop and implement quality assurance and product assurance plans for spacecraft payloads, flight electronics, and associated hardware.
  • Perform quality and reliability analyses, including FMEA/FMECA, Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), risk assessments, and reliability evaluations for payload hardware and software.
  • Develop and maintain compliance matrices to ensure adherence to customer, mission, regulatory, and contractual requirements. Define quality requirements for design, manufacturing, procurement, integration, and testing activities.
  • Participate in subsystem, payload, spacecraft, qualification, environmental, and acceptance testing activities from a quality assurance perspective.
  • Review engineering documentation, manufacturing records, inspection reports, test procedures, and qualification evidence for compliance with quality requirements.
  • Lead Non-Conformance Report (NCR), deviation, waiver, and product failure investigations, ensuring thorough root cause analysis and implementation of effective corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Monitor supplier quality and coordinate quality activities with manufacturing partners, external laboratories, and subsystem vendors and oversee traceability of flight hardware, electronic components, manufacturing records, and quality documentation throughout the programme lifecycle.
  • Participate as the Quality representative in customer and programme reviews, including SRR, PDR, CDR, MRR, TRR, FRR, PSR, and other technical and quality reviews.
  • Lead internal quality audits and support customer, certification, and regulatory audits. Establish quality metrics, monitor product quality trends, and drive continuous improvement initiatives across engineering and manufacturing.
  • Work closely with engineering, procurement, manufacturing, AIT, programme management, and mission teams to ensure quality requirements are effectively implemented throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Support configuration management, change control, product acceptance, shipment readiness, launch campaign activities, and mission assurance.
  • Promote a strong quality culture across the organization and ensure compliance with all applicable quality, safety, and reliability requirements.
Required Skills & Experience
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics & Communication Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Instrumentation, or a related engineering discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Quality Assurance, Product Assurance, or Mission Assurance within the aerospace, space, defence, or high-reliability electronics industry.
  • Strong background in electronics hardware quality assurance, including PCB/PCBA manufacturing, electronic assembly, inspection, and qualification of flight or high-reliability hardware.
  • Experience performing FMEA/FMECA, Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), reliability assessments, risk analysis, and root cause investigations.
  • Experience developing quality plans, compliance matrices, inspection plans, test matrices, software test philosophies, and quality documentation.
  • Practical experience supporting subsystem, payload, spacecraft, environmental, qualification, and acceptance testing.
  • Experience managing Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), deviations, waivers, failure investigations, and CAPA activities.
  • Strong understanding of supplier quality management, component traceability, configuration management, and document control.
  • Experience participating in customer technical reviews and quality audits throughout the spacecraft development lifecycle.
  • Working knowledge of spacecraft development, Assembly, Integration & Testing (AIT), and flight hardware acceptance processes.
  • Excellent analytical, technical documentation, stakeholder management, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Working knowledge of internationally recognized aerospace and space quality standards, including AS9100, ISO 9001, ECSS-Q, IPC-A-610, IPC J-STD-001, and ESD control practices.
  • Experience working with domestic and international customers, suppliers, and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
Preferred Skills & Experience
  • Certification in Lead Auditor, Six Sigma, or Quality Engineering is an added advantage.
  • Experience working with spacecraft subsystems
  • Hands-on experience supporting Spacecraft Assembly, Integration & Test (AIT) activities, including inspection, verification, and quality assurance throughout the integration and testing lifecycle.
  • Familiarity with cleanroom operations, contamination control, and ESD-safe handling practices.
  • Experience working on complex electromechanical or electronic systems requiring high reliability, traceability, and stringent quality standards.
