Job summary

VyomIC in Bengaluru is seeking a highly motivated GNSS Receiver Engineer to help build the next-generation Global LE0-PNT satellite constellation from India.

You will design, simulate, test, and optimize GNSS receiver functions, including acquisition, tracking, and decoding, using SDR tools like GNU Radio and MATLAB.

Collaborate with hardware and mission teams to ensure seamless integration and robust performance under noise, Doppler, interference, and multipath.

Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of GNSS signal processing and receiver design.
  • Experience with acquisition and tracking algorithms.
  • Proficiency in MATLAB, Python, or C/C++.
  • Understanding of modulation (BPSK, QPSK, BOC).
  • Familiarity with SDR tools like GNU Radio and Octave.
  • Ability to process IQ data and implement receiver pipelines.
  • Knowledge of performance metrics (C/N0, SNR).

Responsibilities

  • Design and validate GNSS/PNT signals for LEO satellites.
  • Develop PLL/DLL/FLL tracking loops and Doppler search.
  • Simulate signal performance under multipath and interference.
  • Evaluate acquisition, tracking, and decoding algorithms.

  • Support prototype implementation and SDR/hardware-in-the-loop testing.

Job description

We are looking for a highly motivated GNSS Receiver Engineer to join our team at VyomIC, where we are building the next-generation Global LEO- PNT (Positioning, Navigation, and Timing) satellite constellation from India.

In this role, you will design, simulate, test, and optimize innovative LEO-PNT signals while developing GNSS receiver functions such as acquisition, tracking, and decoding to generate accurate PVT outputs. You will work at the intersection of signal design, system engineering, and performance validation, ensuring robustness against noise, doppler, and interference. Additionally, you will use SDR tools like GNU Radio and MATLAB to build and evaluate receiver performance, contributing to the core architecture of VyomIC’s constellation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and validate advanced GNSS/PNT signal structures tailored for LEO satellites.
  • PLL, DLL, and FLL tracking loops.
  • Doppler search and code phase estimation.
  • simulation and analysis of signal performance under multipath, interference, and jamming conditions to assess robustness of the signal.
  • Validate signal acquisition, tracking, and decoding algorithms for the designed signal architecture and optimize it for Compatibility & Interoperability.
  • Collaborate with hardware, mission design, and GNSS team to ensure seamless integration of signal design into payload and receiver platforms.
  • Support prototype implementation and testing, including software receivers, SDRs, and hardware-in-the-loop setups.
  • Stay updated with the latest global GNSS and LEO-PNT advancements, standards, and regulatory requirements.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Strong knowledge of signal processing for GNSS receivers
  • Hands-on experience in acquisition and tracking algorithms
  • Proficiency in MATLAB, Python, or C/C++
  • Understanding of modulation techniques (BPSK, QPSK, BOC)
  • Familiarity with SDR tools like GNU Radio, Octave
  • Ability to process IQ data and implement receiver pipelines
  • Knowledge of performance metrics (C/N₀, SNR, tracking accuracy)

Preferred Skills & Experience

  • Prior work on GNSS/PNT signal processing.
  • Knowledge of LEO-PNT systems.
  • Experience in SDR implementation and real-time receiver development.
  • Knowledge of error correction coding and decoding.
  • Experience in hardware testing and validation.
  • Knowledge of error correction coding, interference mitigation, and anti-jamming/anti-spoofing techniques.
  • Experience with hardware testing, FPGA/DSP implementations, or software-defined receivers.
  • Ability to work in cross-functional teams bridging signal design, system architecture, and hardware realization.
