Job summary

VyomIC seeks an Assembly & Integration Lead to drive complete payload development from planning through final test, combining mechanical and electrical expertise. You will own AI&T tasks, guide a team, and ensure integration readiness across flight hardware at build, test, and launch sites.

The role requires shaping process plans, validating electrical systems, and ensuring manufacturability per aerospace standards, with direct impact on mission success.

Qualifications

  • 3-8 years of professional experience in system-level design, integration or testing of electrical hardware systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to both perform AI&T tasks and lead a team of employees supporting AI&T.
  • Ability to accurately estimate complexity and duration of AI&T tasks.
  • Familiarity with electrical simulations including EMI, EMC, ESD, harness design, simulation and tests.
  • Experience with software like Capital, Siemens NX, Catia Electrical for simulation and testing.
  • Meticulous attention to detail with the ability to interpret technical literature, ICDs, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and comfort working with uncertain or incomplete tracking observations.
  • Familiarity with ECSS, NASA, IPC, or equivalent spacecraft assembly, integration, and workmanship standards is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Own AI&T tasks and oversee integration and test operations for spacecraft payloads.
  • Manage day-to-day unit- and system-level integration and test activities.
  • Lead a team of engineers and technicians delivering repeatable payload assembly and testing.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure manufacturability and feasible integration.
  • Work hands-on with flight hardware at build, test and launch sites to ensure mission success.
  • Ensure availability of assembly tooling, fixtures, MGSE, EGSE, cleanroom infrastructure, and integration facilities.
  • Support harness installation, electrical continuity verification, grounding, and interface validation during integration.

Job description

We are building the next-generation Global Satellite Constellation for highly precise and secure Positioning, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) using Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellites. We are seeking an Assembly & Integration Lead, this is a senior position in charge of complete payload development from a mechanical and electrical perspective. This role requires development of a navigation payload, from process planning, electrical & mechanical analysis, to development and testing. You have product ownership from incoming components till ensuring final payload assembly testing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process planning as per Aerospace standards for development of spacecraft payload.
  • Conduct analysis of electrical systems for EMI EMC tests, functional analysis, vibration, thermal, etc. to ensure product and design assurance.
  • Take charge of ensuring component incoming inspection (supplier quality), isolated checks, grounding, and unloaded checks.
  • Management of day-to-day of unit-level and system-level integration and test operations.
  • Build and manage a team of exceptional engineers and technicians to reliably and repeatedly deliver spacecraft payload.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to evaluate proposed designs for manufacturability and integration.
  • Work hands-on with flight hardware at build, test and launch sites to ensure mission success
  • Ensure availability and readiness of assembly tooling, fixtures, MGSE, EGSE, cleanroom infrastructure, and integration facilities.
  • Support harness installation, electrical continuity verification, grounding implementation, and interface validation during integration.
Required Skills & Experience
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical or a relevant technical discipline.
  • 3-8 years of professional experience in system-level design, integration or testing of electrical hardware systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to both perform AI&T tasks and lead a team of employees supporting AI&T.
  • Ability to accurately estimate complexity and duration of AI&T tasks.
  • Familiarity with electrical simulations including EMI, EMC, ESD, harness design, simulation and tests.
  • Experience with software like Capital, Siemens NX, Catia electrical for simulation and testing.
