Job summary

WeDoGood is hiring its first Quality Assurance Engineer I in Bangalore (in-office). You will define what quality looks like, own end-to-end QA, and work closely with a small engineering team building with web and AI tech.

This foundational role emphasizes hands-on manual testing with room to grow into automation and AI-assisted QA as you shape our quality foundation.

Qualifications

• 0-2 years of experience in software quality assurance or testing; fresh graduates welcome.
• Ability to convert complex features into clear test plans and structured test cases.
• Strong attention to detail and a knack for finding edge cases and bugs.
• Solid understanding of QA fundamentals and how web apps behave.
• Self-learner with good written and verbal communication for bug reproduction.

Responsibilities

• Understand features deeply and design thorough test plans covering happy paths and edge cases.
• Execute functional, exploratory, regression, cross-browser, and cross-device tests.
• Write clear, reproducible bug reports and collaborate with engineers to fix issues quickly.

We're now hiring our first Quality Assurance Engineer. This is a foundational role: you'll define what quality looks like at WeDoGood and own it end to end.

The role

As our first QAE, you'll be the person who makes sure what we ship actually works. You'll take complex, ambiguous features, break them down into a clear test plan, execute it thoroughly, and find the bugs before our users do. You'll work directly alongside our engineers, embedded in the product from design through release.

This role is heavy on hands‑on, manual testing, with room to grow into test automation and AI-assisted QA as you build our quality foundation. If you're curious, love breaking things, and want to shape how a young company thinks about quality, you'll thrive here.

What You'll Do

• Understand a complex feature or problem deeply, then design a clear, thorough test plan that covers the happy paths, edge cases, and everything that could realistically go wrong.
• Execute test plans rigorously - functional, exploratory, regression, cross-browser, and cross-device - and find bugs that matter.
• Write clear, reproducible bug reports and partner with engineers to get issues fixed fast.
• Own release quality: be the gatekeeper who gives confidence that what we ship to production meets a high bar.
• Explore and experiment with QA tools, including AI-assisted testing, to make our process faster and more effective over time.
• Help establish QA culture and processes from scratch as our first quality hire.

What We're Looking For

• 0-2 years of experience in software quality assurance or testing (fresh graduates with strong fundamentals and genuine curiosity are welcome).
• Ability to take a complex, loosely‑defined problem and turn it into a structured, comprehensive test plan.
• A sharp eye for detail and a knack for finding the bugs others miss.
• Strong grasp of QA fundamentals: test case design, edge‑case thinking, bug lifecycle, and how web applications behave.
• A self‑learner who's comfortable picking up new tools and figuring things out independently.
• Clear written and verbal communication - you can document a bug so anyone can reproduce it.
• Comfortable working in a fast‑moving startup where you define the process rather than inherit it.

Nice to have

• Hands‑on exposure to test automation tools (e.g., Playwright, Cypress, Selenium) or an eagerness to learn them.
• Familiarity with API testing (Postman or similar) and reading logs to debug issues.
• Experience using Claude or other AI tools to assist with testing, test-case generation, or exploration - a strong plus.
• Basic understanding of how modern web and AI-powered products are built.
• Interest in the social impact space.
