Vastika Inc is seeking an Automation Engineer for designing and maintaining scalable automation solutions for web and API applications. The role emphasizes hands-on development of test frameworks, API testing, and integration with CI/CD pipelines.

The ideal candidate will work with Product, Development, QA, and DevOps teams to ensure continuous testing and high-quality software throughout the lifecycle.

Formación

• Experience in UI automation and REST API testing.
• Hands-on with Playwright API, Postman and Swagger/OpenAPI.
• Familiar with building automation frameworks and POM.

• We are looking for a passionate and skilled Automation Engineer with 2-4 years of experience in designing, developing, and maintaining automated test solutions for modern web and API applications.

• You will work closely with Product Managers, Developers, QA Engineers, and DevOps teams to deliver high-quality software through continuous testing and automation.

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable and reusable automation frameworks.

Job Description

• Review functional requirements and identify automation opportunities.
• Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines to enable continuous testing.
• Perform code reviews and contribute to improving automation framework quality.
• Enhance framework stability, execution speed, reporting, and maintainability.
• Maintain automation documentation, test execution reports, and quality metrics.
• Develop automated test scripts for Web UI, REST APIs, and end-to-end business workflows.
• Create robust, maintainable, and reusable test cases following industry best practices.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog grooming, daily stand‑ups, and retrospectives.
• Execute Smoke, Sanity, Regression, Integration, and End-to-End test suites.
• Analyze automation failures, perform root cause analysis, and work closely with development teams for timely defect resolution.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure high product quality throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Stay updated with emerging automation tools, AI technologies, and industry best practices.

Requirements

• Experience in UI automation and REST API testing. Hands‑on experience with Playwright API, Postman and Swagger/OpenAPI.
• Knowledge of automation framework development, including Page Object Model (POM), fixtures and reusable utilities.
• Experience in test automation for Smoke, Sanity, Regression, Integration and End to-End testing.
• Knowledge of API authentication methods: OAuth, JWT and API Keys.
• Experience with Git, GitHub/GitLab and CI/CD pipeline integration.
• Basic to intermediate SQL knowledge and database validation.
• Experience with automation reporting tools such as Playwright Reports, Allure or HTML Reports.
• Familiarity with AI coding assistants such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor AI or Chatgpt
