Job summary

Apex Infralink is seeking a qualified Quantity Surveying (QS) Engineer - Mechanical for contract assignment in Jamnagar/Dahej, Gujarat. The role requires a Diploma or BE in Mechanical Engineering and a minimum of five years’ experience in mechanical construction, refinery, oil & gas, or industrial projects.

You will prepare BOQs, RA bills, verify quantities, monitor costs, and coordinate with site teams. Proficiency in MS Excel and billing tools, along with strong documentation and communication

Qualifications

• Diploma or BE in Mechanical Engineering is required.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience as a QS Engineer / Quantity Surveyor / Billing Engineer in mechanical construction projects.
• Experience in refinery, oil & gas, petrochemical, or industrial construction projects is essential.
• Experience with RA billing, quantity reconciliation, variation management, and client bill certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review quantity take-offs, BOQs, and cost estimates for mechanical construction activities.
• Prepare, verify, and submit RA Bills and final bills per project specifications and contractual requirements.
• Measure and reconcile executed quantities against BOQ items, drawings, and site measurements.
• Verify contractor and subcontractor bills and ensure accuracy of quantities and rates.
• Monitor project costs, variations, and additional works; prepare variation statements and supporting documentation.
• Review mechanical drawings, specifications, and scope of work to assess quantities and identify discrepancies; maintain records of measurements and reports.
• Coordinate with site engineers, planning, procurement, contracts, and client representatives for quantity verification and certification.
• Assist in preparation of claims, rate analysis, and supporting documents for extra items and deviation works.
• Ensure compliance with project procedures, contractual terms, and client billing requirements.
• Prepare periodic reports on quantities executed, billed, certified, and pending for approval.

Key Responsibilities

Required Skills and Competencies

• Strong knowledge of quantity surveying, estimation, billing, and cost control.
• Experience in mechanical construction activities within refinery, oil & gas, or industrial projects.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, BOQs, specifications, and contract documents.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and relevant billing/quantity estimation tools.
• Good coordination, documentation, analytical, and communication skills.
• Ability to work at project sites in Jamnagar or Dahej.

Eligibility Criteria

• Diploma or B.E. in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience as a QS Engineer / Quantity Surveyor / Billing Engineer in mechanical construction projects.
• Experience in refinery, oil & gas, petrochemical, or industrial construction projects is essential.
