Job summary

Calderys in India seeks an experienced Quality Leader to head QC/QA for raw materials, processes and finished refractory products. The role focuses on maintaining quality standards and driving improvements across the plant, including laboratory testing and calibration of equipment.

The candidate should have 5+ years in refractory quality control, strong knowledge of ceramics and refractories, and proven leadership with cross-functional teams in an industrial setting.

Qualifications

• B.Tech in Ceramic Engineering (mandatory) with 5+ years in Quality Control/Quality Management in refractory industry.
• Experience with monolithics/bricks and relevant testing/characterization techniques.
• Knowledge of ISO, QMS, Calderys systems, safety requirements and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead quality control of raw materials, processes and finished refractory products to meet quality standards.
• Drive quality improvement, root-cause analysis, and corrective/preventive actions to reduce complaints.
• Plan and execute product development, customization, process optimization, and cost-reduction initiatives.
• Ensure incoming raw material evaluation, finished-goods inspection, lab testing, and calibration/maintenance of lab equipment.
• Ensure compliance with ISO, QMS, Calderys systems and safety requirements.
• Lead and coordinate with R&D, Marketing, Projects, Application, Supply Chain, customers and suppliers, while training the quality team.

• Plan and execute product development, customization, process optimization, and cost-reduction initiatives.
• Ensure incoming raw material evaluation, finished-goods inspection, laboratory testing, and calibration/maintenance of lab equipment.
• Ensure compliance with ISO, QMS, Calderys systems, safety requirements, and applicable quality standards.
• Lead and coordinate with R&D, Marketing, Projects, Application, Supply Chain, customers, and suppliers, while training and managing the quality team.

Skills & Competencies

• B.Tech in Ceramic Engineering is mandatory, with a minimum 5 years of experience in Quality Control/Quality Management in the refractory industry, specifically monolithics/bricks.
• Strong knowledge of ceramics, refractories, refractory testing, characterization techniques, and laboratory practices.
• Good understanding of mineralogy, crystallography, phase diagrams, and refractory property–performance correlation.
• Hands‑on experience in raw material testing, finished-product evaluation, process control, and refractory installation/application.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, quality improvement, and root‑cause analysis skills with a focus on reducing customer complaints.
• Strong leadership, team building, communication, stakeholder management, and proficiency in MS Office & Google Sheets.
