Job Summary
The Quality Manager will be responsible for ensuring that all products and processes meet the required standards of quality, safety, and compliance. The role involves developing, implementing, and managing quality control systems, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and ensuring product quality and operational efficiency.
The ideal candidate should have strong experience in quality management within the refractory industry, with a focus on process optimization, product quality, testing, customer satisfaction, and compliance with established quality management systems.
Key Roles & Responsibilities :
- Ensure a safe working environment and adherence to applicable safety standards and procedures.
- Manage quality control of raw materials, processes, and finished products to ensure compliance with specifications.
- Plan and execute product development, trials, customization, and developmental activities.
- Identify and implement product cost-reduction and process improvement initiatives without compromising quality.
- Conduct inspection and evaluation of finished goods and ensure timely release as per quality requirements.
- Monitor and control incoming raw materials, including testing, evaluation, and approval.
- Ensure proper calibration, maintenance, and upkeep of laboratory equipment.
- Analyze customer complaints and implement effective corrective and preventive actions to reduce quality complaints.
- Coordinate customer and supplier visits for quality-related inspections, discussions, and issue resolution.
- Ensure adherence to ISO standards, QMS requirements, and Calderys quality systems.
- Coordinate with Marketing, R&D, Projects, Application, and Supply Chain teams on quality and product-related activities.
- Train, guide, and monitor the performance of quality team members/subordinates.
Essential Qualifications & Experience :
- B.Tech in Ceramic Engineering Mandatory.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in quality control/quality management within the refractory industry.
- Experience specifically in refractory monolithics and/or refractory bricks is mandatory.
Skills & Competencies :
- Strong knowledge of ceramics and refractory materials.
- Knowledge of refractory testing and characterization techniques.
- Hands-on experience with testing and characterization methods related to refractory materials and products.
- Good understanding of mineralogy, crystallography, and phase diagrams.
- Knowledge of refractory propertyperformance correlation and refractory installation/application.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong leadership and team-building abilities with effective people management skills.
- Strong relationship management and stakeholder coordination skills.
- Proficiency in Google Sheets and MS Office.
- Good understanding of quality management systems, ISO standards, and continuous improvement practices.
