Job summary

Straive in Chennai is seeking a Quality Assurance (QA) / Tester with 3+ years of experience to join our engineering team. You will ensure end‑to‑end quality across web applications, software tools, and AI‑driven features, combining manual testing with robust automation and performance testing.

You will design test plans, execute cross‑browser tests, and log defects in Jira while helping integrate test suites into CI/CD pipelines.

Qualifications

• Strong test design and defect lifecycle understanding.

Responsibilities

• Web & Tool Application Testing (Manual & Functional): functional, exploratory, regression, and cross‑browser testing on software applications and internal tools.
• Test Case Creation & Management: design, document, and maintain manual test plans, scenarios and test cases from requirements.
• Bug Tracking & Reporting: log, prioritize, and track defects using Jira in collaboration with development teams.
• Automation Frameworks & Load Testing: design and maintain automated scripts using Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, or PyTest.
• Load & Performance Testing: write and execute tests (e.g., JMeter, Locust, k6) to evaluate stability under heavy load.
• CI/CD Integration: integrate automated tests into CI pipelines for fast feedback and regression safety.
• AI Testing & Prompt Engineering Validation: test prompts, inputs, and AI workflows for accuracy, guardrails, and edge cases.

We are seeking a Quality Assurance (QA) / Tester with 3+ years of experience to join our engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for end-to-end quality assurance across web applications, software tools, and AI-driven featuresincluding prompt testing. You will combine manual testing thoroughness with robust test automation and performance/load testing to ensure high quality, reliability, and user satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

1. Web & Tool Application Testing (Manual & Functional)

• Application & Feature Testing: Perform functional, exploratory, regression, and cross-browser testing on software applications and internal tools.
• Test Case Creation & Management: Design, document, and maintain comprehensive manual test plans, test scenarios, and detailed test cases from functional requirements.
• Bug Tracking & Reporting: Identify, log, prioritize, and track software defects to resolution using tools like Jira, working closely with development teams.

2. Automation Frameworks & Load Testing

• Test Automation Scripting: Design, write, and maintain automated scripts for test case execution using frameworks like Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, or PyTest.
• Load & Performance Testing: Write and execute performance and load testing scripts (e.g., JMeter, Locust, k6) to evaluate system stability and responsiveness under heavy load.
• CI/CD Integration: Integrate automated test suites into continuous integration pipelines to enable fast feedback and regression safety.

3. AI Testing & Prompt Engineering Validation

• AI Prompt & Model Testing: Test system prompts, user inputs, and AI agent workflows for consistency, accuracy, guardrails, and handling of edge cases or unexpected inputs.
• AI-Powered Testing Tools: Utilize AI testing tools and self-healing automation frameworks to enhance test coverage and streamline test maintenance.
