Role Overview

As a QA Team Lead, you will be responsible for leading day-to-day QA activities across multiple web scraping and data extraction projects. You will mentor QA Engineers, establish testing standards, review deliverables, identify process improvements, and ensure that every client delivery meets the required quality benchmarks.

The ideal candidate should possess strong leadership skills, excellent analytical abilities, and hands-on experience validating large-scale scraped datasets.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership

• Lead, mentor, and guide a team of QA Engineers.
• Assign QA tasks and monitor daily progress.
• Conduct regular knowledge-sharing sessions and team training.
• Review team performance and provide constructive feedback.
• Support recruitment, onboarding, and mentoring of new QA team members.

Data Quality Assurance

• Validate datasets for:
  • Accuracy

• Review client deliverables before submission.
• Ensure adherence to project-specific validation checklists and SOPs.
• Verify data against client requirements and acceptance criteria.

Testing & Validation

• Prepare detailed test plans and test cases for scraping projects.
• Perform functional and regression testing of web scrapers and APIs.
• Validate parser outputs after website structure changes.
• Identify missing fields, incorrect mappings, duplicate records, and formatting inconsistencies.
• Perform sanity checks before production deliveries.

Scraper Validation

• Test web scraping applications, crawlers, APIs, and ETL pipelines.
• Monitor scraping performance and data quality after deployments.
• Validate outputs across multiple websites and data sources.
• Coordinate with developers to resolve extraction and parsing issues.

Process Improvement

• Improve QA processes, validation methodologies, and checklists.
• Identify recurring issues and recommend preventive actions.
• Maintain documentation for QA processes and project-specific validations.
• Drive continuous improvements in delivery quality and efficiency.

Reporting & Coordination

• Coordinate with Project Managers, Developers, Business Analysts, and Delivery teams.
• Track QA progress across multiple projects.
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly QA reports.
• Escalate critical quality issues and project risks proactively.
• Ensure project deliveries meet defined SLAs and timelines.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
• 3–6 years of experience in Software Testing or Quality Assurance.
• Minimum 2 years of experience leading a QA team.
• Experience working on web scraping, data extraction, or data validation projects.
