Job summary

Lancesoft is seeking a QA tester with strong experience in Shopify POS and retail domain to validate end-to-end POS workflows, integrations, and data integrity. You will develop test scenarios, execute functional and regression tests, and coordinate defect triage with cross-functional teams.

Applicants should have hands-on API and SQL testing, familiarity with JIRA, and a solid understanding of STLC/SDLC. Hybrid/onsite Bengaluru positioning is expected.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Perform functional, integration, system, regression, and end-to-end testing of Shopify POS/POS applications.
• Prepare test scenarios, test cases, and test data based on business requirements.
• Test POS transaction workflows including search, cart, discounts, taxes, payments, refunds, and order management.
• Test Shopify POS integrations with eCommerce, inventory, payment gateways, ERP, CRM, and other third-party systems.
• Validate inventory synchronization and offline/online POS transaction testing.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform functional, integration, system, regression, and end-to-end testing of Shopify POS/POS applications.
• Understand business requirements and prepare test scenarios, test cases, and test data.
• Test complete POS transaction workflows, including:
• Product search and selection
• Cart management
• Discounts and promotions
• Tax calculation
• Multiple payment methods
• Cash/card/digital payments
• Refunds and returns
• Exchanges
• Order cancellation
• Receipts and invoices
• Gift cards and store credits
• Customer management
• Test Shopify POS integrations with eCommerce, inventory, payment gateways, ERP, CRM, and other third-party systems.
• Validate inventory synchronization between POS, online store, and backend systems.
• Perform testing of offline and online POS transactions, including synchronization after reconnection.
• Validate different POS devices, peripherals, and hardware integrations where applicable.
• Perform API testing using Postman or similar tools.
• Validate backend data using SQL queries.
• Execute smoke, sanity, and regression testing for application releases.
• Log, track, and retest defects using JIRA or similar tools.
• Participate in defect triage and collaborate with developers, product owners, business analysts, and other stakeholders.
• Support UAT, release validation, and production verification activities.
• Prepare test execution reports and communicate QA status, risks, and defects.

Required Skills

• 3-5 years of experience in Software QA/Testing.

Shopify POS Preferred Experience

• Hands-on experience testing Shopify POS / Shopify ecosystem.
• Understanding of Shopify Admin, Shopify Storefront, and Shopify POS workflows.
• Experience validating synchronization between Shopify POS and online/eCommerce channels.
• Knowledge of Shopify APIs and third-party application integrations is an advantage.
• Experience with Shopify POS hardware such as card readers, barcode scanners, receipt printers, and cash drawers is a plus.

Good to Have

• Experience in Retail / eCommerce / Omnichannel Commerce.
• Experience testing payment gateways and payment integrations.
• Knowledge of REST APIs, JSON, and XML.
• Exposure to automation tools such as Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, or similar.
• Basic knowledge of JavaScript/Java/Python.
• Exposure to CI/CD and Agile/Scrum environments.
• Experience with mobile/tablet application testing.
• Knowledge of Omnichannel Retail and Order Management.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
