Job summary

Zohorecruit is seeking a QA Engineer in Bengaluru to design, execute, and optimize tests for Shopify POS and related POS platforms. You will verify complete transaction workflows, validate integrations with eCommerce and ERP systems, and ensure data accuracy through SQL checks and API testing.

You will collaborate with developers, product owners, and business analysts to deliver robust, scalable retail software in an agile environment, supporting UAT and release validations.

Qualifications

• QA Engineer with 3–5 years of experience in POS testing, especially Shopify POS.
• Strong hands-on testing across functional, integration, system and regression levels.
• Experience validating POS workflows and integrations with eCommerce, inventory and payment gateways.

Responsibilities

• Perform functional, integration, system, regression, and end-to-end testing of Shopify POS/POS applications.
• Test POS transaction workflows including search, cart, discounts, taxes, multiple payments, refunds, and receipts.
• Validate Shopify POS integrations with eCommerce, ERP, CRM, and third-party systems.
• Execute API testing and SQL validation; log defects in JIRA and participate in triage.

Requirements

• QA Engineer with 3–5 years of experience in Point-of-Sale (POS) testing, with strong hands-on experience in Shopify POS or similar retail POS platforms.
• Perform functional, integration, system, regression, and end-to-end testing of Shopify POS/POS applications.
• Understand business requirements and prepare test scenarios, test cases, and test data.
• Test complete POS transaction workflows, including: Product search and selection, Cart management, Discounts and promotions, Tax calculation, Multiple payment methods, Cash, card, and digital payments, Refunds and returns, Exchanges, Order cancellation, Receipts and invoices, Gift cards and store credits, Customer management
• Test Shopify POS integrations with eCommerce, inventory, payment gateways, ERP, CRM, and third-party systems.
• Validate inventory synchronization between POS, online stores, and backend systems.
• Test offline and online POS transactions, including synchronization after reconnection.
• Validate POS devices, peripherals, and hardware integrations where applicable.
• Perform API testing using Postman or similar tools.
• Validate backend data using SQL queries.
• Execute smoke, sanity, and regression testing for application releases.
• Log, track, and retest defects using JIRA or similar tools.
• Participate in defect triage and collaborate with developers, product owners, business analysts, and other stakeholders.
• Support UAT, release validation, and production verification activities.
• Prepare test execution reports and communicate QA status, risks, and defects.
• Strong hands-on experience in POS testing, preferably Shopify POS.
• Good understanding of Retail POS and eCommerce business processes.
• Strong knowledge of: POS transaction lifecycle, Product/catalog management, Pricing and promotions, Discounts, Taxation, Payments, Refunds and returns, Inventory management, Customer management, Order management
• Experience in functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end testing.
• Hands-on experience with API testing.
• Good knowledge of SQL and database validation.
• Experience with JIRA or similar defect-management tools.
• Strong understanding of STLC, SDLC, test case design, and defect lifecycle.
• Hands-on experience testing Shopify POS and the Shopify ecosystem.
• Understanding of Shopify Admin, Shopify Storefront, and Shopify POS workflows.
• Experience validating synchronization between Shopify POS and online/eCommerce channels.
• Knowledge of Shopify APIs and third-party application integrations is an advantage.
• Experience with Shopify POS hardware such as card readers, barcode scanners, receipt printers, and cash drawers is a plus.
• Experience in Retail, eCommerce, or Omnichannel Commerce.
• Experience testing payment gateways and payment integrations.
• Knowledge of REST APIs, JSON, and XML.
• Exposure to automation tools such as Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, or similar.
• Exposure to CI/CD and Agile/Scrum environments.
• Experience with mobile/tablet application testing.
• Knowledge of Omnichannel Retail and Order Management.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
