BigStep Technologies Pvt. Ltd. seeks a Quality Engineer with 3–4 years of QA experience to ensure the quality and stability of web and mobile apps (iOS & Android). The role emphasizes manual testing complemented by AI-assisted testing practices.

You will design test cases, build smoke/regression suites, perform API tests with Postman, log defects in JIRA, and collaborate with developers to deliver high-quality releases.

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Quality Engineer with 3–4 years of experience to join our growing QA team. This role focuses on ensuring the quality and stability of our web and mobile applications (iOS & Android) through robust manual testing, supported by programmatic and AI-assisted testing practices.

You will work closely with developers, product managers, and fellow QA professionals to deliver reliable, user-friendly software. We are especially interested in testers who use modern tools, such as Playwright and AI assistants like Claude, to build context quickly and produce rigorous test coverage.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, execute, and maintain manual test cases for web and mobile platforms (Android & iOS).
• Develop and maintain structured test suites covering smoke, regression, and end-to-end scenarios.
• Perform functional, regression, and integration testing to ensure software quality across releases.
• Work closely with product and development teams to understand requirements and translate them into effective test cases.
• Use AI tools to rapidly build product context and draft rigorous smoke, regression, and end-to-end tests, then review and refine them for accuracy.
• Validate and test REST APIs using tools like Postman.
• Identify, log, and track bugs and issues through to resolution using JIRA or similar tools.
• Provide timely and clear reporting on test progress, defect status, and release readiness.
• Support release activities by conducting UAT and sanity checks.
• Assist in replicating production issues and work closely with developers to isolate and debug problems.
• Maintain and optimize the test repository for scalability and coverage.

Required Qualifications

• 3+ years of QA experience in manual testing and in building and maintaining test suites.
• Proficient in creating test scenarios, test cases, and test data based on product requirements.
• Familiarity with Android Studio and Xcode for mobile app installations on simulators or real devices.
• Understanding of API testing concepts; working experience with Postman is a plus.
• Experience with bug tracking and test case management tools such as JIRA, TestRail, etc.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team-oriented environment.
• Strong attention to detail and an analytical mindset.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience using AI tools to quickly build context on a product and draft rigorous smoke, regression, and end-to-end tests.
• Exposure to Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
• Basic understanding of test automation concepts.Familiarity with mobile app build and deployment processes.
• Knowledge of SQL and basic database validation.
