Persistent is seeking a QA Engineer Automation Testing in Bengaluru to drive end‑to‑end testing for critical BFSI applications. You will perform manual and automated testing, design and maintain automation frameworks, and ensure regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• 8–12 years of software testing experience in BFSI domain or equivalent.
• Hands‑on experience with automation tools such as Playwright, Karate, Selenium WebDriver, TestNG and JUnit.
• Strong knowledge of API testing using Postman and performance testing with JMeter/BlazeMeter.
• Good working knowledge of SQL for data validation and strong understanding of STLC/SDLC and Agile methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Perform manual, functional, integration, system, regression and UAT testing.
• Identify, log, track, and retest defects using JIRA or Azure DevOps.
• Design, develop, and maintain automation frameworks; execute automated test suites.
• Integrate automated tests with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins/Azure DevOps).

• Validate BFSI workflows including payments, lending, KYC/AML, and core banking.

About Position:

We are seeking a highly skilled QA Engineer with strong hands-on experience in Automation Testing within the BFSI domain. This is an Individual Contributor (IC) role requiring a proactive professional capable of independently driving end-to-end testing activities for business‑critical financial applications, ensuring high quality, compliance, and reliability.

What You'll Do:

• Manual Testing
• Analyze business requirements, functional specifications (FSDs), and technical documents to create detailed test plans and test cases.
• Perform functional, integration, system, regression, and UAT testing.
• Identify, log, track, and retest defects using tools such as JIRA or Azure DevOps.
• Validate financial workflows, transaction cycles, and compliance scenarios across BFSI systems. Automation Testing
• Design, develop, and maintain automation frameworks using tools such as Playwright, Karate, Selenium WebDriver, TestNG, and JUnit.
• Develop and execute automated regression, smoke, and end‑to‑end test suites.
• Ensure script reusability, stability, and scalability of automation assets.
• Integrate automated test suites with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins/Azure DevOps). API & Performance Testing
• Perform API testing and validation using Postman.
• Design and execute performance, load, and stress testing using JMeter and BlazeMeter.
• Analyze performance test results and identify application bottlenecks. BFSI Domain Responsibilities
• Validate banking and financial modules such as payments, lending, core banking, KYC/AML, credit cards, and insurance workflows.
• Ensure adherence to regulatory, risk, and compliance standards during testing.
• Collaborate with Business Analysts, Product Owners, and Development teams to ensure accurate validation of business‑critical applications.

Expertise You'll Bring:

• 5 to 8 years of experience in software testing with strong expertise in both Manual and Automation Testing.
• Hands‑on experience with automation tools such as Playwright, Karate, Selenium, TestNG, and Cucumber.
• Strong knowledge of API testing using Postman.
• Experience with Performance Testing using JMeter and BlazeMeter.
• Good working knowledge of SQL for data validation across systems.
• Sound understanding of STLC, SDLC, defect lifecycle, and Agile methodologies.
• Proven experience working on BFSI applications with high regulatory requirements.
• Exposure to cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
• Experience with microservices testing, Kafka validation, or event‑driven architectures.
• Experience integrating automated tests with CI/CD pipelines.
• QA certifications such as ISTQB, CSTE, or equivalent.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving capabilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.
• High attention to detail with a commitment to quality deliverables.
• Flexibility to collaborate with cross‑functional and distributed teams.
• Educational background: Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent practical experience.
