Job summary

Jashubhai Group is seeking a Quality Control Engineer for the Process Equipment Division in Mumbai/Ahmednagar/Pune. The role requires 4-5 years in manufacturing boilers, pressure vessels, heat exchangers, and related process piping, with expertise in IBR, welding, and NDT.

You will lead shop-floor inspections, prepare QA plans and reports, coordinate with customers, and ensure ISO and IBR standards are met.

Qualifications

• B.E/ B.Tech Mechanical Engineering preferred; Diploma or other disciplines not eligible.
• 4-5 years experience in industry manufacturing boilers, pressure vessels, heat exchangers, oil & gas process piping, structural industrial burner, etc.
• Familiar with manufacturing codes and standards; welding qualifications; hydro testing; pneumatic testing; radiography; stage-wise inspection (incoming, in-process, final).
• Experience in boiler manufacturing and handling inspections with IBR Inspector.
• NDT Level II in UT, RT, PT, VT; ASME CSWIP considered as added qualification.
• ISO certifications and documentation preparation.
• Soft skills include strong communication and leadership to manage the quality team during shop-floor inspections.
• Key responsibilities include: GRN clearance for incoming material; prepare inspection plans/reports; document calibration; ensure QAP compliance; coordinate with customers; produce final as-built drawings; generate NCRs; review docs; welding map for radiography; material testing; inspection at vendor sites.

Responsibilities

• Act as an independent decision maker for each project and clear GRN for incoming material within day through Oracle system.
• Prepare Inspection Test Plan/Quality Assurance Plan per project.
• Prepare Inspection Reports—Incoming, In-process, Final, and Sub-Vendor inspections.
• Maintain instrument calibration within due date.
• Check and implement WPS, PQR, and WPQ per requirement.
• Prepare work instructions as needed.
• Coordinate with customer for inspections per QAP.
• Ensure final as-built drawings in consultation with Production Engineer.
• Prepare packing slips with Production.
• Identify final product with name plates and tags.
• Prepare ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015 & ISO 45001-2018 & IBR documentation.
• Obtain inspection clearance from customer prior to dispatch.
• Generate NCRs for non-conformities and close within committed period.
• Review documents through customer and TPI.
• Prepare Weld Map for radiography and RT film interpretation.
• Material testing for chemical & physical properties.
• Maintain solid organizational skills and multi-tasking.
• Inspect weld joint preparation.
• Provide on-job training for welders for procedure qualification.
• Oversee blasting & painting inspection.
• Inspect at vendor sites for bought-out items.

Educational Qualifications : B.E/ B.Tech Mechanical Engineering Preferred
Diploma and other discipline (Electrical, Instrumentation, Electronics, Comp, etc.) Engineers need not apply. BBA, BA, BCom also need not apply.
Desired Experience : 4-5 years & above in industry catering to manufacturing Boilers, Pressure vessels, Heat exchangers, oil & gas process piping, Structural Industrial Burner Etc.:-
Familiar with All type of Manufacturing Codes & Standards, Welding & Welder Qualifications, Hydro Testing, Pneumatic Testing, Radiography, Stage wise inspection like incoming, in process & final Inspection.
Working experience in Boiler manufacturing & handling of inspection with IBR Inspector is required.
Desired Technical Subject matter expertise : Using codes & standards such as IBR, ASME, EN, IS, API etc.
NDT level II in UT, RT, PT, VT. Welding course like ASME, CSWIP will be considered as added qualification.
Desired Commercial subject matter expertise : Outsourcing laboratory test for raw material & instrument.
Familiar with ISO certifications & document Preparation.
Desired Soft Skills : C communication skill, leadership ability to manage customer Quality team during Shop floor inspection.
Key Responsibilities :

• Generate NCR for non-conformity material and ensure to close the same in the committed period & keep a status for the NCR.
• Review of documents (Internal Inspection Report, TCs) through customer and TPI.
• Prepare Weld Map for radiography, RT film interpretation.
• Material testing for Chemical & Physical for traceability.
• Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills.
• Inspection of weld joint preparation.
• On job training for welders for procedure qualification.
• Blasting & Painting inspection.
• Inspection at various vendor place for bought out items.
