Job summary

Sykatiya Technologies in Bengaluru is seeking an UI Test Automation Engineer / QA Test & Automation Engineer to design, implement and maintain robust automated UI test strategies using Python, Pytest, Playwright, and Selenium. UI Test Automation Engineer / QA Test & Automation Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain robust automated UI test scripts and frameworks.
• Create and execute functional, regression, smoke, integration, and end-to-end test cases.
• Develop reusable and scalable automation components using Python and Pytest.
• Perform UI automation using Playwright and/or Selenium.
• Design and execute REST API tests and validate API responses, status codes, request/response payloads, and error handling.
• Identify, document, track, and verify defects using JIRA or similar defect management tools.
• Maintain automation frameworks, test suites, utilities, fixtures, and reusable test components.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins.
• Analyze test failures, identify root causes, and generate test execution reports.
• Participate in test planning, requirement analysis, test case design, and code reviews.
• Collaborate closely with developers, QA engineers, product managers, and business teams to ensure product quality.
• Contribute to improving test coverage, automation efficiency, and overall QA processes.
• Support continuous improvement of automation frameworks, testing methodologies, and CI/CD practices.

Required / Preferred Skill Set

• Strong hands‑on experience in Python automation.
• Good experience with Pytest framework, including fixtures, parameterization, assertions, and test reporting.
• Hands‑on experience in UI testing and automation.
• Good knowledge of Playwright automation; Selenium experience is also acceptable.
• Knowledge of REST API testing and automation using tools such as Postman, Python Requests, or similar frameworks.
• Working knowledge of Git and GitHub, including branching, pull requests, merging, and version control.
• Experience with JIRA and TestRail for defect tracking and test management.
• Knowledge of Jenkins and CI/CD for automated test execution.
• Basic understanding of Cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, Azure, or OCI.
• Knowledge of Docker, containers, and Kubernetes will be an added advantage.
• Good understanding of software testing methodologies, SDLC, STLC, and defect life cycle.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with attention to detail.
• Good communication and collaboration skills.

Good to Have

• Experience in building or enhancing automation frameworks from scratch.
• Experience integrating UI and API automation into CI/CD pipelines.
• Understanding of containerized test execution using Docker/Kubernetes.
• Exposure to cloud‑based test environments and scalable automation.
• Experience with test reporting tools and automation dashboards.
