Job summary

Mavenir seeks a QA professional to define and drive end-to-end QA for the 5G Session Management Function deployments. You will design test coverage, validate interfaces, and ensure 3GPP standard compliance across CPS, QoS and policy control.

In this role you will lead automation efforts, collaborate with Product, Development and DevOps teams, and help embed quality early in the release cycle for cloud-native SMF environments.

Responsibilities

• Define end-to-end QA strategy and architecture for the 5G SMF.
• Design test coverage for PDU session lifecycle and errors.
• Validate SMF interfaces with AMF/UPF/PCF/UDM using SBA REST/HTTP/2.
• Ensure compliance with 3GPP specs for SMF QoS and policy control.
• Drive automation-first testing integrated with CI/CD pipelines.
• Lead resiliency, failover and chaos testing for cloud-native deployments.
• Define network slicing and QoS validation scenarios.
• Ensure security testing for signaling, APIs and data protection.
• Standardize test environments using Kubernetes and cloud platforms.
• Mentor QA engineers and collaborate with product and dev teams.

Role Summary

Develops, implements and maintains technical quality assurance and control systems and activities. Defines and specifies the implementation of standards, methods and procedures for inspecting, testing and evaluating the precision, accuracy and reliability of company products. Participates in the reviewing of engineering designs to contribute quality requirements and considerations.

Key Responsibilities

• Define end-to-end QA strategy and architecture for the 5G Session Management Function (SMF)
• Design test coverage for PDU session lifecycle : creation, modification, release, and error handling
• Validate SMF interfaces and interactions with AMF, UPF, PCF, UDM using SBA (HTTP/2, REST)
• Ensure compliance with 3GPP specifications (SMF, QoS, charging, policy control)
• Drive automation-first testing (functional, API, regression) integrated with CI/CD pipelines
• Architect performance, scalability, and latency testing for CPS, session scale, QoS flows
• Lead resiliency, failover, and chaos testing for cloud-native SMF deployments
• Define network slicing and QoS flow validation scenarios
• Ensure security testing for signaling, APIs, and data protection
