Job summary

Cloudxtreme is seeking a highly skilled Senior Python Engineer in Chennai to modernize and build a scalable, event-driven microservices platform. You will translate complex legacy logic into clean Python services and develop core components for near real-time decision support.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years of Python development experience, strong knowledge of FastAPI/Flask, Kafka, and distributed systems, with a focus on performance and scalability.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of professional software development experience with Python for enterprise-scale solutions.
• Expert-level Python with FastAPI/Flask; design, build, operate distributed, event-driven microservices using Kafka, RabbitMQ, or Azure Service Bus.
• Strong analytical skills and experience with algorithms, data structures, and solving complex problems.
• Data analysis with Python (Pandas/NumPy), statistics, and time-series analysis.
• Experience with performance profiling and optimization in Python across microservices and event pipelines.
• Proven experience building resilient backend jobs and schedulers (Celery/Celery Beat, Airflow).
• Strong proficiency with relational databases (PostgreSQL, SQL Server) and data consistency.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• 10+ years of professional software development experience, with a strong emphasis on Python for building enterprise-scale solutions.

• Strong proficiency with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, SQL Server) and experience working with read replicas and managing data consistency.
• Demonstrated ability to understand and translate complex business requirements from technical documentation or subject matter experts into functional code.
• Knowledge of containerization (Docker) and container orchestration concepts with Kubernetes.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred/Recommended Skills

• Experience in supply chain, logistics, manufacturing, or e-commerce domains, especially with inventory or complex resource management systems.
• Direct experience migrating legacy applications (especially from platforms like IBM i/AS400 or languages like RPG/COBOL) to modern technology stacks.
• Experience building and maintaining applications on cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
