Strong handson Python developmentexperience for enterprise applications
Experience building Python-based microservices (FastAPI / Flask)
Ability to reengineer legacy business logicinto clean, maintainable Python code
Experience with eventdriven systemsand message streaming (Kafka or similar)
Solid understanding of algorithms, data structures, and problemsolving
Experience with Docker and Kubernetesfor deploying and scaling Python services
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Python Engineer to help modernize and build a scalable, event-driven microservices platform. You will translate complex business logic from legacy systems into clean, maintainable Python services and develop core components for a near real-time decision-support solution. Ideal candidates excel at solving complex problems, designing robust distributed systems, and advancing critical enterprise solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the hands-on development and implementation of Python-based microservices for a critical enterprise platform.
- Analyze, interpret, and re-engineer business logic from existing legacy systems into clean, efficient, and maintainable Python code.
- Design, build, and maintain high-performance, event-driven components for event aggregation, impact analysis, and rules-based processing.
- Develop and integrate with event streaming platforms like Kafka to process a high volume of business events in near real-time.
- Implement complex business rules and algorithms that govern resource allocation, transactional validation, and system constraints.
- Develop integrations with various data sources, including read replicas of production databases, ensuring data consistency and performance.
- Optimize system components for low latency and high throughput, meeting stringent performance targets.
- Write comprehensive unit, integration, and performance tests to ensure the quality and reliability of the system.
- Work with containerization technologies (Docker) and orchestration platforms (Kubernetes) for deploying and scaling services.
- Collaborate closely with Solution Architects to implement the technical vision and ensure the architecture is scalable, resilient, and maintainable.
Job Title: SENIOR PYTHON DEVELOPER
We are an Equal Employment Opportunity Employer.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- 10+ years of professional software development experience, with a strong emphasis on Python for building enterprise-scale solutions.
- Expert-level Python with FastAPI/Flask; ability to design, build, and operate distributed, event-driven microservices using Kafka, RabbitMQ, or Azure Service Bus.
- Strong analytical skills and experience with algorithms, data structures, and solving complex logical problems.
- Data analysis proficiency with Python (Pandas/NumPy), basic statistics, and time-series analysis; ability to design experiments and interpret results.
- Experience in performance profiling and optimization in Python (cProfile, PySpy/PyFlame) across microservices and event pipelines, including async I/O analysis, memory/CPU hotspot detection, and SQL/query tuning.
- Proven experience building resilient backend jobs and schedulers (cron, Celery/Celery Beat, Airflow), including idempotent batch processing, retries with backoff, and operational monitoring.
- Strong proficiency with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, SQL Server) and experience working with read replicas and managing data consistency.
- Demonstrated ability to understand and translate complex business requirements from technical documentation or subject matter experts into functional code.
- Knowledge of containerization (Docker) and container orchestration concepts with Kubernetes.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred/Recommended Skills
- Experience in supply chain, logistics, manufacturing, or e-commerce domains, especially with inventory or complex resource management systems.
- Direct experience migrating legacy applications (especially from platforms like IBM i/AS400 or languages like RPG/COBOL) to modern technology stacks.
- Experience building and maintaining applications on cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
