Job summary

Capco is seeking a Python Backend Developer to design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and RESTful APIs using Python and FastAPI. The role involves integrating APIs with Azure cloud platforms, Databricks, and Delta Lake to enable data-driven decision making across banking, financial, and energy sectors.

The ideal candidate will have expertise in authentication, authorization, testing (pytest), and CI/CD pipelines, along with collaboration with data scientists and frontend teams

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and RESTful APIs using Python and FastAPI.
• Build and integrate APIs that expose statistical models, analytical services, and machine learning solutions to front end and external systems.
• Collaborate with data scientists and business stakeholders to operationalize computational and statistical models in production environment.
• Integrate backend services with Azure cloud components, including Azure Data Lake Storage, Databricks Delta Lake, and Azure DevOps.
• Design and implement secure authentication and authorization, and API security mechanism.
• Develop reusable, modular, and maintainable code following software engineering best practices and coding standard.
• Optimize application performance, scalability, and reliability for high-volume data processing workloads.
• Implement automated testing, including unit test cases using pytest.
• Collaborate with front end developers to support seamless integration between React - based user interfaces and backend services.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate application deployment and release processes.
• Work with ML flow and MLOps frameworks to support model deployment, versioning, monitoring, and life cycle management.
• Participate in code reviews, technical design discussions, and architecture planning activities.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, API specifications, and operational runbook.
