Job summary

Capco is seeking a skilled Python backend developer to join our team in India. You will work on FastAPI-based applications to run large data modeling, leveraging the Databricks platform and Azure cloud.

The ideal candidate has a strong background in backend development, data science model basics, and cloud-based solutions to enable data-driven decision-making and innovation within our portfolio.

Qualifications

• Experience building backend systems with Python and FastAPI.
• Strong understanding of REST APIs and data processing.
• Experience with cloud platforms and data tooling is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and RESTful APIs using Python and FastAPI.
• Build and integrate APIs that expose statistical models, analytical services, and machine learning solutions to front end and external systems.
• Collaborate with data scientists and business stakeholders to operationalize computational and statistical models in production environment.
• Integrate backend services with Azure cloud components, including Azure Data Lake Storage, Databricks Delta Lake, and Azure DevOps.
• Design and implement secure authentication and authorization, and API security mechanism.
• Develop reusable, modular, and maintainable code following software engineering best practices and coding standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and RESTful APIs using Python and FastAPI.
• Build and integrate APIs that expose statistical models, analytical services, and machine learning solutions to front end and external systems.
• Collaborate with data scientists and business stakeholders to operationalize computational and statistical models in production environment.
• Integrate backend services with Azure cloud components, including Azure Data Lake Storage, Databricks Delta Lake, and Azure DevOps.
• Design and implement secure authentication and authorization, and API security mechanism.
• Develop reusable, modular, and maintainable code following software engineering best practices and coding standard.
• Optimize application performance, scalability, and reliability for high-volume data processing workloads.
• Implement automated testing, including unit test cases using pytest.
• Collaborate with front end developers to support seamless integration between React - based user interfaces and backend services.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate application deployment and release processes.
• Work with ML flow and MLOps frameworks to support model deployment, versioning, monitoring, and life cycle management.
• Participate in code reviews, technical design discussions, and architecture planning activities.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, API specifications, and operational runbook.
