The candidate will oversee civil, MEP, and finishing materials, drive savings, and coordinate closely with project, engineering, contracts, finance and site teams to ensure smooth procurement

Qualifications

• B.Tech / B.E. in Civil Engineering required.
• 12-18 years of experience in Purchase/Procurement.
• Strong exposure to construction procurement, vendor management and commercial negotiations.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end purchase and procurement for ongoing and upcoming projects.
• Develop procurement plans aligned with project schedules and site requirements.
• Procure civil, MEP, finishing and other construction-related materials.
• Negotiate rates, payment terms, credit periods and other commercial terms.

The role will be responsible for planning and managing end-to-end procurement of construction materials, services and project requirements while ensuring competitive pricing, quality and timely availability.The person should have strong exposure to construction procurement, vendor management and commercial negotiations and should be comfortable working closely with project and site teams.Key ResponsibilitiesLead end-to-end purchase and procurement activities for ongoing and upcoming projects.Develop procurement plans in line with project schedules and site requirements.Handle procurement of civil, MEP, finishing and other construction-related materials.Identify, evaluate and develop vendors and suppliers across project locations.Negotiate rates, payment terms, credit periods, delivery schedules and other commercial terms.Finalise vendors and manage purchase orders, rate contracts and supply agreements.Drive cost optimisation and identify opportunities for procurement savings.Ensure timely availability of materials at project sites to avoid project delays.Work closely with Project, Engineering, Contracts, Finance and Site teams.Monitor material requirements, purchase orders, deliveries and pending supplies.Develop alternate vendor sources for critical materials.Conduct market benchmarking and ensure competitive procurement rates.Manage vendor performance, quality issues, delays and commercial disputes.Ensure adherence to procurement processes, approval matrix and budgets.Prepare and present procurement MIS covering cost, savings, pending orders, deliveries and vendor performance.Lead, guide and develop the purchase team.Candidate ProfileB.Tech / B.E. in Civil Engineering is mandatory.1218 years of relevant experience in Purchase / Procurement.Strong experience with a real estate developer, construction company or infrastructure organisation.Should have handled procurement for large-scale construction/real estate projects.Strong knowledge of civil, MEP and finishing materials.Excellent negotiation and commercial management skills.Experience in vendor development and market sourcing.Strong understanding of project requirements, BOQs and material planning.Good communication and stakeholder-management skills.Should be capable of independently managing the procurement function and leading a team.
