Job summary

HR Innovation Group is seeking a Purchase Engineer in Pune Baner to support sourcing of mechanical components, vendor onboarding, and cost optimization. The role requires understanding of GST, import/export, and ability to read technical datasheets.

You will coordinate with Design and Production teams, ensure BOM accuracy, and drive cost-saving initiatives while maintaining quality and reliability of parts and processes.

Qualifications

• Good technical knowledge of mechanical components and materials.
• Knowledge of GST, customs duty and import/export.
• MS Office and ERP.
• Ability to read technical datasheets.

Responsibilities

• Technical Sourcing: Source specialized components for robotics and dispensing machines and verify BOM accuracy.
• Vendor Development & Management: Identify, evaluate and onboard new vendors; negotiate pricing and delivery terms.
• Cost Optimization: Perform value engineering to reduce costs without compromising quality.
• Inventory & Coordination: Optimize inventory and coordinate with Production Planning to avoid shortages.

Technical Sourcing

• Source specialized components for robotics and dispensing machines.
• Understand technical drawings and BOM (Bill of Materials) to ensure 100% accuracy in parts ordered.
• Ensure 100% correctness in material specifications, quantities, and revisions while placing orders.
• Coordinate with Design and Production teams to clarify technical requirements when needed.

Vendor Development & Management

• Identify, evaluate, and onboard new vendors, especially within the Pune industrial hub and selected global suppliers.
• Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules to close cost-effective deals.
• Evaluate vendor performance based on Quality, Lead Time, and Credit Terms.

Cost Optimization

• Perform Value Engineering by identifying alternative materials or components that meet the same functional and performance requirements at lower cost.
• Drive continuous cost-reduction initiatives without compromising quality or machine reliability.

Inventory & Coordination

• Implement best procurement and purchasing practices to optimize inventory levels and reduce warehouse carrying costs.
• Coordinate with the Production Planning team to prevent line-down or material shortage situations.
• Manage the "Inward Quality" processensuring that what was ordered is exactly what was delivered.
