Job summary

Adani Group is seeking a senior Electrical Protection engineer to support EHV substations’ protection configurations and maintenance. The role involves hands-on work with relay schemes, testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting of transmission protection systems at live substations.

Ideal candidates have 7–15 years in Electrical Protection, knowledge of PS Cad/PSSE, and willingness to travel to site locations as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor/Engineer with Electrical discipline and 7–15 years of experience in Electrical and Protection systems.

Responsibilities

• Understand and implement protection systems for EHV substations.
• Test, commission, and troubleshoot transmission protection schemes.
• Coordinate relay settings and scheme configurations per guidance.
• Support data collection and RCA/troubleshooting for events.
• Travel to site locations as required.

Job description

Purpose/Objective

• To support Electrical & Protection related activities of medium voltage and EHV class Transmission substations

Key Responsibilities of Role

• Strategic Roles & Responsibilities - Experience of various transmission substation configurations, and basics of electrical and protection for all elements.
• - Understanding of Substation equipment and their operations with basic maintenance & condition monitoring.
• - Understanding hands‑on experience of CRP scheme, IED configuration, Handson working with IEDs, scheme wiring and equipment schemes.
• - Testing, Commissioning, and troubleshooting of Transmission Protection system and scheme for new projects and O&M including Factory Inspection as per guidance.
• - Implement modification for setting, configuration, scheme as per guidance.
• - Hands‑on experience of relay setting calculation and coordination.
• - Experience of Power system study, Load flow study, Transient study.
• - Exposure of High voltage system and equipment protection above the 132KV system.
• - Power Transformer, Reactor protection and relay setting review.
• - Daily / routine monitoring of substation events and occurrence and preparing relevant report / data to support RCA & Troubleshooting.
• - Data collection for Occurrence Analysis (RCA), Reporting, Trouble shooting.
• - Support for IMS, Reporting and maintaining relevant database.
• - Required exposure, understanding and ability to observe safety aspects and procedures to carryout activities in live switchyard.

  - Working knowledge: PS Cad, PSSE, My power will be an additional advantage.
