Job summary

Siemens in India is seeking a System Engineer with experience in Protection and Substation Automation. You will design protection schemes, control panels, SLDs, and interlock logic for various voltage levels, and coordinate with customers for drawings.

The role requires B.Tech/B.E. in Electrical/Electronics and 4–10 years of relevant experience, strong communication, negotiation, and teamwork abilities, and familiarity with Excel/Word/PowerPoint. Knowledge of IEC 61850 is desired.

Responsibilities

• Prepare Protection SLDs, Trip matrices, and interlocking logics per customer specs.
• Design Control & Protection Panels for all voltage levels and bus arrangements.
• Prepare control/protection schematics for generators, lines, transformers, buses.
• Prepare FAT/SAT/GTP/TTR/FDS/HEAT LOAD documents and CRP interfacing drawings.
• Develop system architecture based on requirements and work with customers.
• Know IEC 61850, Master-Slave/Client-Server concepts, and basic networking.
• Coordinate with Sales/Testing/Commissioning, procure materials, and assist wiring.
• Provide support to project teams and customer discussions for drawings.

Job Description

• Preparation of Protection SLD’s, Trip matrix, interlocking logics etc. as per customer specification/requirements.
• Design of Control & Protection Panels for all voltage levels system, should have knowledge of various bus arrangements.
• Control and protection schematic preparation for various power system equipment i.e. Generator, Line, Transformer, Reactor, Busbar etc.
• Preparation of FAT/SAT/GTP/TTR/FDS/HEAT LOAD documents.
• Preparation of CRP interfacing drawings.
• Preparation of various types of System Architecture based on system requirements.
• Knowledge on different serial and ethernet based protocols used in Substation Automation System.
• Should have knowledge on Master Slave and Client Server philosophy, IEC 61850 protocol and Computer networking.
• Discussion with customer for drawing approval/resolution of queries.
• Initiating loadings to factory for material procurement, fabrication and wiring of the systems under scope.
• Support to Sales/Testing/Commissioning teams.

Eligibility Criteria / Skill Sets

• B.Tech / B.E. in Electrical/Electronics Engineering.
• 4–10 years of relevant experience.
• Has good interpersonal, negotiation and communication skills.
• Fast learner and able to work independently or as a team player.
• Able to work under minimum or less supervision.
• Shall have good knowledge of computers, especially Excel, Word, PowerPoint etc.
• E-Base software knowledge will be an added advantage.
