Job summary

Johnson Controls Bengaluru seeks a senior Fire Protection Lead to manage the Fire Protection and Suppression POD, delivering projects on time and to spec. You will lead a 10–12 person design team, drive KPIs, and ensure QA/QC and safety standards across regions.

Requires BE/ME in Mechanical/Electrical/Electronics & Communications, 10–12 years in Fire Protection, and strong knowledge of BSEN, FM, NFPA. Proficient in AutoCAD and MS Office; exceptional leadership and stakeholder management are

• BE/ME in Mechanical, Electrical, or Electronics & Communication Engineering.
• 10–12 years of mandatory experience in Fire Protection Systems.
• Proven leadership of teams of 10–12 members.
• Strong expertise in BSEN, FM, and NFPA standards.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Office tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead Fire Protection and Suppression POD to meet KPIs and stakeholder requirements.
• Own and drive squad KPIs, track performance, and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with regional standards and manage workload distribution.
• Mentor a 10–12 designer team and conduct RCA for issues.
• Deliver weekly and monthly stakeholder reports on progress, risks, and mitigations.
• Interface with internal/external stakeholders to meet schedules and budgets.

What You Do

The primary responsibility for this role is to lead Fire Protection and Suppression POD efficiently, achieving required KPIs’ and delivering jobs per Stakeholders’ requirements.

How Will You Do It

• Demonstrate strong domain expertise in Fire Protection and Suppression systems.
• Bring 10–12 years of global, customer-facing experience in fire protection projects.
• Own and drive Squad KPIs, including performance tracking and implementation of corrective countermeasures.
• Ensure compliance with regional/area-specific standards and norms.
• Manage case distribution across the squad to balance workload effectively.
• Proactively address and resolve people conflicts within the team.
• Execute silo risk mitigation by managing peak and valley workloads, maintaining utilization between 90%–110%.
• Take end-to-end responsibility for KPI’s, as defined by each region.
• Ensure timesheet approval and accuracy.
• Lead and conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for quality, delivery, or productivity issues.
• Ensure QA/QC adherence, including proper documentation and logging.
• Identify squad competency gaps and drive required training and upskilling initiatives.
• Act as the primary interface with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring projects are executed within agreed schedules, budgets, and customer technical specifications.
• Effectively manage and mentor a team of 10–12 designers.
• Deliver weekly and monthly stakeholder reports covering project progress, risks, and mitigation plans.
• Actively participate in and support organizational employee engagement initiatives.
• BE / ME in Mechanical, Electrical, or Electronics & Communication Engineering.
• 10–12 years of mandatory experience in Fire Protection Systems.
• Proven experience in leading teams of 10–12 members.
• Strong expertise in BSEN, FM, and NFPA standards.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to demonstrate strong leadership, decision-making, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred

8 to 12 years of relevant experience in Fire Protection Domain.
