Job summary

Khan Academy India is seeking a Project Associate to support the rollout of the Khan Academy platform in Maharashtra, working with the government school system. You will collaborate with the Department of School Education, Maharashtra, and partner with multiple internal teams to ensure high-quality implementation.

The role is a twelve-month contract based in Pune. You will travel across districts, train education officials and teachers, and build strong relationships with senior government

Qualifications

• 3+ years of relevant work experience.
• Experience with government schools in Maharashtra is a plus.
• Fluency in Marathi and English, both spoken and written.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple stakeholders.

This role sits within Khan Academy India's Schools Team, which partners with government school systems to help teachers and students make the best use of the platform and has reached over 8.4 million learners across 22,000+ schools.

Role

Khan Academy India is looking for a Project Associate to support its programme with the government school system in Maharashtra. Working alongside the Program Lead, you will drive the rollout of the Khan Academy platform in the state in partnership with the Department of School Education, Maharashtra, and work closely with the Content, Partner Operations, Teacher Professional Development, and Data and Efficacy teams to keep the quality of implementation high. This is a twelve-month contract role based in Pune.

Responsibilities

• Support the Program Lead in rolling out the Khan Academy learning platform across government schools in Maharashtra.
• Take ownership of work streams and deliver on goals agreed in advance.
• Deliver and support regular training for education officials, programme mentors, and teachers.
• Follow up after training to find out what is working and what is getting in the way, and use that to strengthen the programme.
• Create engaging resources that help schools and teachers put the programme into practice.
• Conduct field visits three to four times a week and stay in regular touch with officers and teachers.
• Gather insights from schools that help the team increase adoption and deepen usage of Khan Academy.
• Set up communication channels and drive creative communication for teachers, principals, and officers.
• Write clear nudges that give teachers and schools a reason to act.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with nodal officers, state resource persons, district-level officers, and school stakeholders.
• Document all state discussions in a standard format and keep internal and external stakeholders informed.
• Analyse qualitative feedback from the state system and collaborate with other Khan Academy India teams to deliver the programme on time.

Requirements

• 3+ years of relevant work experience.
• Experience as an educator or work with government schools in Maharashtra is an added advantage.
• Fluency in Marathi and English, both spoken and written.
• A strong collaborative mindset and the ability to build relationships with many stakeholders, including senior government officers.
• Comfort navigating complex situations and making informed decisions that fit the shared goals of partners and Khan Academy.
• Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle several tasks at once.
• Excellent ability to pull together information from many sources and present it clearly in English and Marathi.
• Comfort working with large volumes of data, spotting trends, and drawing evidence-based conclusions.
• Comfort analysing qualitative insights and adjusting partnership plans accordingly.
• Strong communication across email, written documents, digital presentations, and conversation, adapted to the audience.
• A quick learner who can get up to speed on new problems fast.
